Our contractor has had some outside issues to resolve, unrelated to business, and we have let him off the hook for deadlines and progress for the time being. Tuesday, July 15, 2014. The doors were painted last week. I'd picked a vibrant daylily color. It was my first choice, then I wavered and started chickening out to go with a sea blue, then a green that would match the peak of the house. I settled on one of those, but by the time I'd driven home, I had gone back to daringly vibrant again! And now that it is on the doors, I'm glad that I went the brave route. I am liking it. We plan on turning the stairs so they come out just to the left of where they are now and make the opening where the stairs come out now into a closet with the circuit breakers in it. The wood trim will be good to keep, and the wood floor in this room is a keeper. Each piece of wood is at least 1/2 inch thick and is 3 inches wide and 22 feet long! Friday, December 16, 2016. The knob arrived, and though I thought I'd really, really like it, and almost did. It has some problems. The first problem is that it arrived with a "stress" crack and a few other cracks in the acrylic. It is also acrylic, so it is a little lighter weight and has some surface scratching that looks like it will show wear. So, unless I want to inspect each and every knob and be prepared to send some back for replacements (and potentially need to do that process again! Subscribe t...
