In order to control pests, beneficial bugs are introduced into the crop. This is a natural alternative to using harmful chemicals. Using biological control methods leaves a smaller impact on the environment. These are two companies that supply our beneficial insects and bio control consultation. Phil and Carolyn Tiemstra began growing beefsteak tomatoes in 1991 and have expanded the operation several times adding many different varieties of tomatoes along with beans, lettuce, peppers and Herbs. State of the Art. Gull Valley Greenhouses is committed to using up-to-date technologies that are energy efficient. Water is recycled to reduce water and fertilizer usage. Carbon dioxide is captured from boilers and is given to plants.
