A little taste of life day to day in West Africa. Monthly Archives: August 2014. Getting back in the Groove. August 25, 2014. That has been a blessing to us. Another blessing is that our bedroom has AC so we can really get some good sleep during this hot time. It is especially good because there are no windows in the bedroom. We have also enjoyed reconnecting with our friends who work with the Mission and our African friends as well! God has really been good. Pictures of our Life. Our Last Month Or So.

We received a 30 lbs package from our friends/partners from Prairie City! Not only is it awesome to get a package but all of the thought that went into getting the things in it really touched us. Sonntag, 20. Juli 2014. Am Freitag war ich zu zu einer Hochzeit eingeladen. Einer unserer Sprachhelfer hatte uns alle zur Hochzeit seines Bruders eingeladen, den wir überhaupt nicht kennen. Aber es ist hier wohl so, das die Geschwister auch ihre Freunde zur Hochzeit einladen können, es reicht wenn man den Bruder kennt - also sind wir alle hin. Patricia - die Tocher der Familie bei denen ich grad wohn und die ihr Zimmer mit mir teilt stellt aus dünnem Karton Perlen her - aus denen sie dann Halsketten und Ohrringe macht. Find ich voll cool. Den Schmuck verkauft sie dann und kann sich damit ein bischen Geld dazuverdienen. Zuerst zeichnet sie auf die Rückseite des Kartons. First she draws lines at the back of the cartboard. Dann schneidet sies aus. Than she cuts it. So sehn die Perlen dann aus.

Gestern hatten wir bei uns in der Gemeinde eine Taufe. 5 Leute haben bezeugt dass sie an Jesus ihren Retter glauben und ihm für seinen Tod danken. Jeder von ihnen hat in einem kurzen Zeugniss berichtet wie Jesus in ihrem Leben gewirkt hat und anschließend wurden sie vom Pastor getauft und haben später noch eine Bibel als Geschenk erhalten.
