Old Pueblo Ponderings: May 2008
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 22, 2008. I just started plotting a course across the country. As usual, it looks like the first night out is the only hotel night. I need someone to get a job in Albuquerque, mm'kay? Beyond that, tentative plans to hit Springfield, Louisville, Phili, then home in Maine. Had hoped to get up to Chicago on this journey, but it doesn't seem like that will happen, as my brother's family will also be in Maine at the beginning of July. Monday, May 19, 2008. Sunday, May 18, 2008. That's a quaint w...

http://theshalvster.blogspot.com/2007/04/i-recently-took-day-trip-to-poland-to.html
Tuesday, April 03, 2007. I recently took a day-trip to Poland to see Auschwitz while staying in Berlin with a friend. I took a night train to Krakow. Poland's carrier, PKP, had a sale to Krakow (Krakow! In a sleeping car for just 40 euro. The train is quite cozy. It's the convertable type with six bunks cramped into one compartment. Much as I'd like to add Poland to my list of countries in which I've been driven by a Polish cabbie, I wasn't ready to drop 150 Zloty on the experience. This is the main gate...

Thursday, August 24, 2006. No, not this Berlin. Doing this. for a temp gig. Good thing I have friends to tell me when I'm being stoopid. I talked to Leah who made it plain what my decision should be, and assured me I wouldn't be sold into the sex slave trade. Seriously, I wasn't the only one of her friends who questioned this guy. Here is a picture of me on my sweet new MacBook:. Ok, back to Doichtenland. I leave this Monday the 28 and I'll be there for about ten days checking out the IFA, which is b...

Old Pueblo Ponderings: Say Cheese!
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2009/01/say-cheese.html
Saturday, January 24, 2009. Every month, my family tries to do "family dinner." It's about gathering together- but it's also about trying new recipes, and spending time creating in the kitchen. Each month we try a different theme: we've done everything from Chinese New Year to "things on sticks". This month's theme is wine and cheese, (my mother got the Tillamook Cheese Cookbook for Christmas) and we're also using it as a little celebration of my stepfather's 75th birthday. You want the recipe? 1/2 cup f...

Old Pueblo Ponderings: November 2008
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 1, 2008. It's been a long time since August 27th, when last I posted. Much has transpired. Much of that is stressful, and I prefer not to rehash it. But speaking from the other side of those particular tranches I've traversed, things are looking better now. Like once the budget cuts come down (or keep coming down), but I have less of a sense of doom. That still may happen, but now I don't feel like it's going to break my neck. But I just wanted you all to know I'm alive.

Old Pueblo Ponderings: Tea Time
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2009/01/tea-time.html
Tuesday, January 6, 2009. While I did accomplish a thing or two thus far today, I still have quite a bit on the list of things that still need doing. However, I decided to abandon the office at around four this afternoon, swing by the library to pick up a book that I'm contemplating using for one of my classes, and then came home and made myself some tea. I'd feel a lot more elegant if I weren't in my sweats. Black tea, with these great little curls of mandarin peel in it. View my complete profile.

Old Pueblo Ponderings: It's Been a While...
http://cjc-oldpuebloponderings.blogspot.com/2009/06/its-been-while.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2009. It's Been a While. It's been a while. Since I've been here to update. And it's been a while. Since I've been inventive in the kitchen. It's been a while. Since I've felt like I could describe this space I'm in. And it's been a while. Since I've felt like I could confide in any one. But everything I can't remember as fucked up as it may seem. The consequences that I've rendered. I've stretched myself beyond my means. It's been a while. It's been a while. It's been a while. Things...
