A few years back, we purchased some beautiful land in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (da U.P. to local folks) to prepare ourselves for retirement from the Air Force. The goal was to create a Homestead and live out the rest of our working years on the land and it was a good one! Wide, open spaces. Chock-full of wild flowers. And wild berry patches.
