Saturday, July 25, 2015. In Olympia for the 48th World Wide Sketchcrawl Day. Urban Sketchers Seattle and Tacoma joined together for the 48th World Wide SketchCrawl Day in Olympia. We met at the "Legislative Steps". the large stairs into the Capitol building. This facade is so impressive but I found it a little overwhelming in its architectural grandeur. I sketched a side view with the dome from across the street. World Wide Sketchcrawl Day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Masthead sketch by Mark Ryan.

Urban Sketchers Tacoma: March 2015
http://urbansketcherstacoma.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 29, 2015. Sketching from Vashon to Port Townsend. My day began on the Vashon Island ferry dock waiting for the next boat to Southworth. As I waited school buses arrived to pick up off-island children who attend school here on island. Just enough time for me to quick-sketch the buses and the arriving ferry. Micron 08 pen and watercolor pencils served my sketching needs. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. April's Wednesday sketch outing. WW Seymour Botanical Conservatory. Update 3/25: Media allowed:.

Urban Sketchers Tacoma: View from the bench
http://urbansketcherstacoma.blogspot.com/2015/07/view-from-bench.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. View from the bench. I sketched this while interpreting at Fort Nisqually yesterday. I sat on a bench in the shade in front of the "Large Store" building. The white house in the background is the Factor's House, where the manager of the installation lived. For a Wednesday, there seemed to be many visitors. I interacted with a few but nothing remarkable. It was a very peaceful, quiet day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Masthead sketch by Mark Ryan. Join our Flickr group.

Monday, July 20, 2015. Regional Sketch Gathering - Tacoma. These are two sketches from the July 11th Sketch Gathering in and around Union Station. We were given a reprieve from the hot weather and actually found myself scrambling to cover a sketch from the rain. Almost forgot what that was like. The second sketch was an attempt to paint the reflection off glass on the Tacoma Art Museum. Pen, ink and watercolor in a Moleskine watercolor sketchbook. July 21, 2015 at 7:29 AM. Urban Sketchers Tacoma: June 2015

Friday, June 26, 2015. Skansie Net Shed - Gig Harbor, Washington. Getting to Gig Harbor that morning was very quick and easy, something I thought would be worse with the golf tournament gearing up. Going home was a different story, one should avoid #16/I-5 from the Narrows to downtown Tacoma until the road construction is done. My thanks to Feather for opening the Net Shed, what a cool place and there certainly was plenty of marine and other subjects in the area to sketch for some time. On July 11, 2015.
