The Floyd Files: March 2007
http://thefloydfiles.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 29, 2007. Both Isabelle and Aidan are fairly good with their words, making only a few errors in pronunciation. For some reason, Aidan sometimes says "sh" rather than "s" (which makes reading Hairy Maclarey Sit. The other day in the car Isabelle was playing her version of "I spy", which uses the sound a letter makes rather than the name of the letter (phonics anyone? So "sh" is for shoe, "k" for car, etc. Anyway, she said:. I spy something beginning with "w" ". No, it's below us! What fina...
The Floyd Files: January 2007
http://thefloydfiles.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Orla is three weeks old today and was 2.95 kilos at her last weigh-in on Monday. It feels as though she is emerging from prematurity into newborn-ness. We no longer have to time her feeds during the day (nor at night, providing that there is no more than 4 hours between feeds of course Orla has been waking through the night at 3 hours on the dot! She has grown out of one of her little quintuple zero outfits. When she is awake, she is very interested in her surroundings. Emily...

http://domesticallyblissed.blogspot.com/2010/05/im-not-buying-it.html
Friday, May 14, 2010. I'm not buying it . So since February I have been on a mission to not buy anything new. Kind of like 'the compact' well probably exactly like the compact in fact! Some of you who have been reading my blog for a while might remember the 'Buy Nothing Challenge' of April 2008, which for me became mostly about not buying things made in China. Generally I have stuck to that, although during my horrid pregnancy I didn't. What it means is:. 3 1/2 months into it and its been going really we...

DomesticallyBlissed: Our Simple Bathroom
http://domesticallyblissed.blogspot.com/2010/03/our-simple-bathroom.html
Monday, March 1, 2010. Is it just me or do others find that bathroom 'stuff' seems to breed and multiply? I have been decluttering the bathroom for what seems like years, but I blink and it clutters up again! We are now blessed in our small-ish (1200 sq ft) home to have 2 bathrooms . both very small but a luxury nonetheless. And yet, without constant vililance they both end up cluttered. So constant vigilance is the only answer, and a tight rein on my credit card! I've been applying my 'if I lived in an ...

DomesticallyBlissed: Simplify, Simplify, Simplify
http://domesticallyblissed.blogspot.com/2009/11/simplify-simplify-simplify.html
Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Simplify, Simplify, Simplify. I remember when I was at university I saw the book ‘Simplify your Life'. By Elaine St James on the counter at the university bookshop. Despite my rather meagre student finances I bought it immediately and read the whole thing on the bus ride home. I was hooked. The notion of deliberately choosing a life that is ‘outwardly simple, inwardly rich’ resonated deeply. Since then, voluntary simplicity. Now there is (of course! A stay at home mum. My life...

DomesticallyBlissed: February 2010
http://domesticallyblissed.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 28, 2010. My grandparent's have a wonderful 'toy bag' that they have kept for visiting children. It has entertained many many children of all ages . and yet it is filled with things you might not recognise as toys. An old set of keys. A wallet filled with out dated money and cards. An old cell phone. Old ties. Old scarves. Some shells. A pair of goggles. Some ends of wool. And live in a bus! When it comes to toys, I think for my children the list would be:. Some plain wooden blocks.

Friday, December 11, 2009. Where I've been . Sorry I have been so disturbingly quiet the last month or so! Thank you for your messages of concern and encouragement. Things have been busy here, our darling Little Guy is now 9 months old but has been back to sleeping like a newborn . in fact far worse than as a newborn. Teething and a cold seem to have completely taken him out of what little routine he had! In the meantime wishing you all a wonderful Christmas. Thanks for the heads up Gypsy! Then she did g...

Gypsy Skulls
Taking an old school art form and giving it a little twist, Gypsy Skulls is a form of pressed flower art made into unique, one of a kind pieces. Locally made in Calgary, AB, this art originated with the pressed flower sugar skull and branched out from there. Check out our online store. To see what is available! And lastly, I absolutely LOVE arts and crafts. Anything crafty, I am into it, which is of course, is how Gypsyskulls came about.
