Holidays '05 - Nelson. The same day as visiting Sandon, we went on to Nelson where we visited Randy and Val, Percy and Marla. We hiked up to Polson Rock which is a lookout across the river/ lake. Holidays '05 - Revelstoke. We spent a couple of days in Revelstoke checking out some the main attractions. Namely, the Revelsoke Dam, the CPR Museum, and Mt. Revelstoke Park. We hit the park at peak flower season and it was amazing. It was about 35 degrees, which caused some haze in the valleys. So we didn't get to see that far, but it was spectacular none the less. Holidays '05 - Sandon. After the Okanagan we made our way across to Nakusp via the Needles-Faquier ferry (look for Holidays '05 - On The Road) The next interesting stop after that was Sandon. Sandon is an abandoned silver mining town that has a very rich history. Once a city of around 10,000 people with a famous bordwalk that spanned the creek, Sandon now only has a few inhabitants and only a handful of buildings.and lots of ghosts. Sunday, August 28, 2005.
