Saturday, October 28, 2006. Decided to stop ignoring our part of the city and broke ground on the community center at Gus Garcia Park. We went to the ground breaking this morning. Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Our VBS this year is focusing on John Wesley, the founder of United Methodist Church. Tonight during music time we talked about his brother, Charles. Charles wrote many hymns and poems so I investigated all the hymns in our red hymnal authored by Charles. I was surprised to find that Mendelssohn wrote the music but Charles Wesley contributed the lyrics to. The Herald Angels Sing. And also the lyrics to another favorite. Christ the Lord is Risen Today. Sunday, July 30, 2006. We went to Seaworld SA today with nannie, papaw, Am, Em, Harmony and Janice. It was a blast. Had no idea until just before we got on to the Steel Eel that Amberlin had never ridden a non-kiddie roller coaster; what a roller coaster for your first one! We caught lots of air. I tell you I was a little scared too looking over the side when you are over the trees and. You are only halfway up. It was a blast but am exhausted. Speeds of almost 65 mph. Maximum "air time," or weightlessness.
