Devil, Can You Hear Me? June 20, 2011. New issue of The Stool Pigeon. Should be out there in the real wide world ’bout now. I’ve got a live review of Emeralds in there somewhere, and it’s free, so use it to line your guinea pig’s hutch or summat at the very least…. 8230;new issue of Rock A Rolla. Is out too. I’ve reviewed the new Cock E.S.P. Records for that one. Both of which I’m rather fond of. Proper (maybe) post incoming…. June 8, 2011. Shackleton live, reviewed by yours truly. June 7, 2011. Devil, Can You Hear Me? June 5, 2011. So umm… yeah. I’ve gone and done a Woebot/Ekoplekz I’m afraid. I’ve started making music. Of course, it’s nowhere near as accomplished as the aforementioned bloggers turned… musicians? Fuck, artists I suppose! Through sheer economic circumstance and lack of inclination to learn how to do things properly, I’ve inadvertently adopted an approach which is the exact opposite of Ekoplekz. I think this email I sent to a few mates probably sums it up best:. If that hasn̵...

Ears For Eyes: Otomo Yoshihide - Piano Solo & Quintet/Sextet (OTOroku)
http://ears4eyes.blogspot.com/2014/01/otomo-yoshihide-piano-solo.html
Tuesday, 28 January 2014. Otomo Yoshihide - Piano Solo and Quintet/Sextet (OTOroku). 8216;Piano Solo’ begins with a pure ringing feedback tone. A buzzing metallic hum begins to intrude. This, in turn, is buried in a corrugated rusty roar that vanishes as quickly as it arrives. This is all somehow done with a piano. Abandon hope all ye seeking any traditional piano signifiers; this is sculpted alien noise with a fascinating texture and fluid dynamics. The bellowing plateaux are numbing and violent. Side A...

Ears For Eyes: Cordyceps is Your Friend - Cafe Oto, Dalston, London - 7th November, 2014

Sunday, 9 November 2014. Cordyceps is Your Friend - Cafe Oto, Dalston, London - 7th November, 2014. The second set was a calmer proposition. Pascal Savy. By contrast, was slow, minimal and understated. Using his synths to build an accumulating menace like malevolent birds gathering on a overhead cable. This was noise set in monochrome relief, black eels gliding through blacker water. I have no idea; I just wanted it to end. The highlight of the evening was Embla Quickbeam. Throughout the evening Laid Eyes.

Using such minimal instrumentation as a laptop, harmonium and Casio keyboard, together with various low budget recording equipment, Norton seems to have an extra sensory knack of creating something moving, eerie and somewhat chilling out of almost nothing.” The Wire. 8220;I’d like to think Loor. Don’t approach this record expecting the craggy coves and bracing seas of romantic cliché. Instead, imagine a cold wet night in a St Austell municipal car park, the car radio scanning channels in search of an...
