There is no doubt in my mind that his decision to speak out on the same sex marriage issue when he did may have been prompted by earlier comments on the subject by Vice President Joe Biden. Whatever his primary motivation, I believe the President should be applauded even though he may have risked his political future and perhaps his life after politics by publicly stating, Same-sex couples should be able to get married.
