Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Posted late to keep my Christmas secrets* *. Lying to Chris is VERY STRESSFUL! Today, I skipped work to go pick up Chris's Christmas present and didn't tell him. I put an out of office message on my work email that claimed I was "in training all day" just in case he sent me an email. Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Fall is in the air. This week we have open houses for both of the girls. Hailey will get her schedule. Tayla will find out her teacher. We're going to soak up the last of the summer over Labor Day weekend before we have to get back into a structured schedule. Wednesday, January 27, 2016. This morning, Tayla had braces put on her front teeth. She wasn't excited about it. She was convinced she was going to be ugly with braces (she still does). Monday, December 26, 2016. Christmas Eve started with our traditional steak dinner at Jimmy Mac's. Then we headed to Doug and Kathy's for presents and ice cream sundaes. After the festivities, we headed home and prepared cookies and egg nog for Santa. Then we read Twas the Night Before Christmas. And settled into bed. But I couldn't sleep. Monday, January 2, 2017. 1 We had Christmas morning again with my family the morning after we arrived. It was chaotic and loud. The kids were excited and buried in presents. Monday, October 31, 2016. When it came to deciding what she wanted to be for Halloween, Tayla was like a ping-pong ball. She seemed to have a new idea for a costume every day. But one thing she kept coming back to was a mask. A fancy one. So, here's Tayla, dressed as what she calls "a masquerade guest.". I thought she looked adorable.
