TESL in Bangkok: July 2007
http://meganinbangkok.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
A journal of my foreign experience. Tuesday, July 31. At Nature Resort, the grey clouds lifted a bit and there were a couple hours of clear blue sky and the sun even popped out a few times. We were greeted by a cute little lady with a very low voice, and then led to our huts by a crazy thai host who we later played volleyball with in the sea (as the British say). Monday, July 30. Mr A, as he preferred to be called, "spotted" tiny tiny things from the road. lizards 50 yards away, a spider web, etc....

TESL in Bangkok: Jungle Trek
http://meganinbangkok.blogspot.com/2007/07/jungle-trek.html
A journal of my foreign experience. Monday, July 30. Jenna and I joined the tour with a little Belgian family with two high school girls, and four just-graduated British English teachers from Bangkok. We rode around the park in the back of a truck (with two benches and a wagon cover type thing), with our guide standing on the lowered gate watching for hornbills. We are so lucky! There are a leeches EVERYWHERE in the jungle. We had to wear special socks and be constantly watching for them. Everyon...

TESL in Bangkok: May 2007
http://meganinbangkok.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
A journal of my foreign experience. Tuesday, May 29. First Impressions (from my journal last week). Note: there is a lot of writing below. At dinner tonight I had a whole octopus and a whole shrimp on my plate. They said nothing about the octopus, but told me that I only had to eat the shrimp tail, because the head is “full of cholesterol” anyway and I don’t need that. Another teacher told me to be careful about Thai food or I’ll get fat. So I push the girls to talk to me in English as much as I can....

TESL in Bangkok: June 2007
http://meganinbangkok.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
A journal of my foreign experience. Friday, June 29. Getting to Know You. Due to the traffic and distance from the campus where my host works to the campus where I work, I have taken to getting out of the car at the cross road and taking the bus to my campus, so that he doesn't have to do an extra hour (or more) or driving. Very courteous)- is buy a carved pineapple, and sticky rice and grilled pork-kabobs for breakfast and let me just tell you, it is the best meal I can imagine. I might be fit for city ...

TESL in Bangkok: Jet What?
http://meganinbangkok.blogspot.com/2007/08/jet-what.html
A journal of my foreign experience. Friday, August 10. I'm officially home now, watching crappy late night t.v. and eating graham crackers and chocolate frosting with Joel. This movie is seriously awful. Joel appears engaged. So I came home, met my parents' new adopted german shepherd, Toby (which I've decided is short for "Toblerone" due to his orangey coloring). Toby is learning how to sit outside my bedroom door and watch me put away my laundry. I do not miss the soi dogs in Bangkok. The stray dog...
