Archive for July, 2014. Tuesday, July 1st, 2014. Last October (2013) – yeah, I’m slightly behind…. The Thomas’ and Harvey’s took a trip North to Great Wolf Lodge to celebrate Halloween. At the time, life was reallllllly stressful and I’m pretty sure that this little vacation saved me from a break down. Seriously. So, we loaded up the family and the costumes and away we went! We had a great time, loved the water park and loved the celebrations. I swear that Mae had a great time! Tuesday, July 1st, 2014.

An open mind and a heart to serve. Here is a glimpse into my life as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua. Sunday, June 24, 2012. I spent some time with my family tonight and of course running around with Dyland- gonna miss that little guy! And, I got a few of the last minute items packed. I'm getting really excited for the trip, but I still have a few fun things to do tomorrow before I head out. I have Access class in the morning and I'm sure I'll get to play with Dyland too. There is a new season that is transforming in our lives. God has been molding our family and preparing our hearts with a vision for an entirely different concept of church, an urgency to meet people where they are and a desire to get a little radical. We are planting a church… sort of. Basically we are part of a group of people who are starting a movement of missional communities around Salem – it’s called PAX, meaning Peace. Kinda cool right? Eventually Chad went through the Cultivate program with ELI.

Right before school started, the elementary hosted an open house. Aside from meeting Emma’s teacher and exploring her classroom, the highlight of the night was the fabulous face painter.
