Will wonders never cease? Raising a child with special needs can be fun! Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Evolution of a Hug. I am a hugger. My friends that are huggers know that about me. They know to give me a hug when I see them. I am not obnoxious about it (I hope.) If I know someone isn't a hugger or if I feel some hesitation from them I don't force it. I need at least ten hugs a day. My kids aren't huggers. I expect hugs though, they don't get a free pass. Sometimes when I ask for a kiss, I get a hug.

He is the same teacher she had last year, her first year in high school, the kids call him 'B'. He is young and very enthusiastic. He is so enthusiastic about Haley that it makes me wonder if he is just as excited about the other kids in his class. I am sure he is. This morning I got an e-mail from her teacher, which said:. They arrived on Friday shortly after Haley got home from school. She was so happy to see them, but she was really shy. They got hugs, but not the hugs with big squeezes that we had been practicing. They went to Yoga with her. Haley spent the weekend around her grandparents. She didn't use her laptop on the kitchen table like she usually does though....

Haley has adapted to her summer schedule swimmingly. It took her several days, but she is now "sleeping in" which for her is 6:00 am rather that 5:00 am. In fact she did wake up at 5:00 am this morning, but she wanted to be covered back up again. Every page is full of the same words:. I started writing sentences for her. I am good. I love you.
