Paris Walks: Walk 14: Eighteenth-Century Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: Musée Jacquemart-André, Musée Nissim de Camondo, Parc Monceau
http://haleyspariswalks.blogspot.com/2010/04/walk-14-eighteenth-century-lifestyles.html
A couple of the classes for my Study Abroad program require us to document our walks around Paris. Voilà! Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Walk 14: Eighteenth-Century Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: Musée Jacquemart-André, Musée Nissim de Camondo, Parc Monceau. What started that daydream? This is from the outside:. I love me some lions. Parc Monceau is beautiful (but I'm a sucker for anything green), and full of ruins, like this:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Walk 21: Get Lost! Walk 8: Marais Walk 2.

A couple of the classes for my Study Abroad program require us to document our walks around Paris. Voilà! Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Walk 9: Follow the Money: Palais Royal, Bourse, Covered Passages. Imagine a nightmare that consists entirely of you, walking past rows and rows of windows, each filled with beautiful, precious, antique, and extraordinary items, all of which you want, and none of which you could ever hope to be able to buy. Welcome to window shopping in Paris. Let me just say this: Paris is ...

Cultural Activities (you can ignore this if you're not Dr. Ricks, or even if you are). 6) The Pierre Boulez concert for tonight counts, yeah? I'm sure it'll be fantastic. Walk 21: Get Lost! I can't count the number of times that I got lost in Paris, but, if it comes to choosing one of them to document, it will have to be the trip to Roland Garros (site of the French Tennis O...
Paris Walks: Walk 5: Place de la Concorde
http://haleyspariswalks.blogspot.com/2010/04/walk-5-place-de-la-concorde.html
A couple of the classes for my Study Abroad program require us to document our walks around Paris. Voilà! Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Walk 5: Place de la Concorde. This walk took me past a bunch of government buildings, including the Palais de l'Elysée, which is the French equivalent to the White House, and the U.S. Embassy, neither of which I could actually go into. Aaaaand with that, I went to the Tuileries and almost fell asleep in the sun. The perfect end to any walk. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Winter In Paris 2010: Finding Your Way Around A Doll's House
http://winterinparis2010.blogspot.com/2010/02/finding-your-way-around-dolls-house.html
Monday, February 15, 2010. Finding Your Way Around A Doll's House. So, since we're all just students of French, I thought, oh, I don't know, maybe. Some of you would like to have a summary of the plot of A Doll's House. Seriously, with resources like this, I would have graduated college with honors. Meanwhile, Dr. Rank, a family friend, flirts with Nora before revealing that he is terminally ill with. Of the spine (a contemporary euphemism for. Nora tells Kristine of her predicament. Kristine says th...

Monday, March 29, 2010. Lovin' The Loire Valley. Yes, it's been like FIVE WEEKS since I've written on this blog, which still amazes me because it seems to have been just a blur of activities, beautiful weather, and visitors. But I'm back, and this time with information on our upcoming. Trip I don't know about all of you, but I am really looking forward to hanging with everyone on the rock n' roll tour bus and checking out a new part of France. Oh yeah, and the castles and stuff. Winter In Paris 2010: The French Easter Fiesta
http://winterinparis2010.blogspot.com/2010/04/french-easter-fiesta.html
Monday, April 12, 2010. The French Easter Fiesta. Me telling everyone to come and get it. Max was wise and ate on the top bunk to avoid the feeding frenzy. The spread: Homemade guacamole, salsa, refried beans, chicken tacos, with a few little French additions, like creme frâiche instead of sour cream, gouda cheese instead of cheddar, and romaine lettuce instead of iceberg. Luckily cooking for you guys is like shooting fish in a barrel. Especially when you have been Mexican deprived for months.

Winter In Paris 2010: The Recital
http://winterinparis2010.blogspot.com/2010/04/recital.html
Sunday, April 18, 2010. I know you all thought you'd be home by now, but since you're not, I thought I'd entertain you with some new blog posts. I wanted to thank Angela and Mike for the great recital the other night, and I know, like everyone, I enjoyed it immensely. Here's the photos:. Mike teaching Jack a few things on the guitar, and during his performance. Angela at the harp. It made us laugh, it made us think, and it was overall just beautiful. Tuesday, April 20, 2010. And I loved the idea of the locks the first time I heard about it from Reba. Then on to dinner. I'm still trying to figure out why Steve (and Chelsea) got the Tartare. Finding a home for our locks. And I had no idea that Jack had become so attached to his lock and was heartbroken when he realized he had to leave it. We appeased him by giving him Garret's (sorry Garret). Throwing the key into the Seine. Our own row of locks. Sunday, April 18, 2010. Angela at the harp. Me telling e...

Thursday, December 3, 2009. Making A List And Checking It Twice. It was great to meet you all during class today, and I've uploaded my favorite packing spreadsheet. So you can download it to use for yourself. Just drop it into Excel and you can customize it to fit your needs. I know it may seem a bit obsessive, but I promise, it will help you a TON if you decide to use it! I'm so excited to get to know you all better next week at our Fête. And even more while we are all living in Paris together.

Winter In Paris 2010: Band of Gold
http://winterinparis2010.blogspot.com/2010/02/band-of-gold.html
Tuesday, February 9, 2010. So, why the so bad it's good 70's Soul Train? Because today, while walking around the Place de Madeline, Steve was confronted with one of the oldest Paris street scams out there, the "Gold Wedding Ring" scam. Here's how it went down:. So, what's the scam, you might ask? Well, since we had never been confronted with this one either, we looked it up, and here's the answer. February 26, 2010 at 5:08 PM. I CANT DECIDE WHATS WORST THE SCHEME OR THE LIP SINGING IN THAT MUSIC VIDEO.

Proudly powered by WordPress.
Truth Be Told
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. The time has finally come . Rob and I are going on a week vacation! Can you believe that I've never owned a passport in my entire 30 years! When I went to Louisiana those two times, it was before Canadians needed passports to enter the U.S. We seriously have never taken a trip that didn't include family. We are actually going somewhere, just the two of us, for the first time out of the country. I'm excited! Pike Place Market, the Space Needle and an evening ride on a lit up ferris...

Haley in Lesotho
I've started this blog in order to stay in touch with everyone while I'm in Lesotho. Internet access may be limited, but I'll update this as often as possible. The views and opinions on this site are mine, and mine alone and are not affiliated with the Peace Corps. Monday, May 2, 2011. May is here and the weather is cold. What a difference it is from the states! African winter. I'm going to purchase a small gas tank just for my heater so I can at least attempt to stay nice and warm. A free wine activity!
