Wednesday, 25 April 2012. I opened my email, my heart sank. Right area, wrong jobs. Massive disappointment. Heartbreak. The only job I've ever wanted, and I'll have to wait a bit longer. A Doctor in the Works: August 2012

http://adoctorintheworks.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

A Doctor in the Works. Follow the life of a PGY-1 (intern) in Internal Medicine. Sunday, August 26, 2012. I honestly don't know where the time went, but my two weeks on inpatient hematology and oncology are up. It has been a really great experience; I just wish it would have been a four week rotation rather than two! Maybe I'll be able to publish one. For now, it's back to putting together my residency application before I begin my next clerkship tomorrow - I'll be on internal medicine for four weeks!

A Doctor in the Works: January 2014

http://adoctorintheworks.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

A Doctor in the Works. Follow the life of a PGY-1 (intern) in Internal Medicine. Monday, January 20, 2014. I just can't wrap my head around it.but pneumonia is a leading cause of death in the elderly, and I am sure this is a large reason as to why. I suppose if we did the bronch and removed the plug, it would only happen again and again.which it did during the hospital course.so in a way, why prolong the suffering? People constantly tell me how sad oncology is, but I'd take it any day in place of this!

It's MATCH WEEK, ladies and gentlemen! For those of you who may be wondering "what in the world is match week? Let me give you a little break down of how it works. In a nutshell, it's how medical students are selected for residency positions in their desired specialty. By October 1, the medical schools released to the applicable programs what i...

A Doctor in the Works: February 2014

http://adoctorintheworks.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

A Doctor in the Works. Follow the life of a PGY-1 (intern) in Internal Medicine. Thursday, February 6, 2014. Not so Emergency Rotation. This month, I am working in the emergency department. Most of us see this rotation as a sort of vacation - we only work 15 11-hour shifts in a month, plus our clinic days and didactics.which, for me, means I'll average about 55-60 hour work weeks (compared to my usual 70 hour work weeks). Those extra 10-15 hours off can make a huge difference! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

A Doctor in the Works. Follow the life of a PGY-1 (intern) in Internal Medicine. Saturday, February 9, 2013. The underlying reasons why I haven't been updating you is that I:. 1) don't have much new to say. 2) have been busy with personal things such as wedding planning and holidays. 3) am patiently waiting for the rank lists to be submitted before I comment too much about interviews. A few posts to look forward to in the coming weeks:. My holiday to England in photos and memories. How The Match works.

A Doctor in the Works. Follow the life of a PGY-1 (intern) in Internal Medicine. Sunday, December 2, 2012. My number 1 ranked program scheduled my interview for this week. I already am very familiar with the program, and I know I love it there. My mind is made up, which is half the battle - it is a "match" process, after all, so I have to love it just as much as they love me! Fingers crossed it will involve programs of either Rank #1 or Rank #2! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Subscribe To My Blog. Internal ...
