Roundup: Cyclocross Bikes for Short Riders. With additional reporting by Corinne Karmiel and Adam Myerson. 2011 is a good year for small cross bikes, which makes this roundup happily long! Why I Bike: A Manifesto. Great Pumpkin Ride 2015. October 25, 2015. I loved this ride from last year. And originally signed up for the 48-mile ride. I had also unwittingly signed up to work that evening. argh. I wanted to do both, so I opted to do the 30-mile ride instead so that I could have time to go home, change, and go to work. At first, I was having some doubts as to whether this was a good idea. Was it worth it to drive all the way to Warrenton, VA for a 30-mile ride? I was feeling a little stiff ...

Why I Bike: A Manifesto. Mother’s Day 5K 2015. May 11, 2015. Of the year. Here’s how it went down. Finally, we were corralled at the start. People running with strollers got a head start, and then the rest of the runners began several minutes later. It was a small crowd, but I tried to position myself at the end of the runners line and before the walkers. All in all, I felt pretty good throughout the entire run. I was pleased to see that I beat my previous time. By two minutes– a new PR! Tour de DCPL VII.

Why I Bike: A Manifesto. June 30, 2015. For the month of June, I biked 21.31 miles in 3 days. I also ran 8 times for 22.79 miles, which included the Pride 5K. Wow– that’s the first time I’ve ever run more than I’ve biked in a given month. I took the month off from work, which meant my commuting miles went out the window, and I didn’t do much riding beyond that. I’m back to work in July. July 2015 Stats →. Tour de DCPL VII. Why I Bike: A Manifesto. Tour de DCPL VI. May 17, 2015. May 17, 2015. Many kudos to the folks at the DC Public Library for putting together this ride during National Bike Month. Every year. This is a small window into the everyday life our rural farm family. Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Sweat socks, softball, sports and life. This ornament is the perfect reminder of my Uncle Hank. My dads youngest sibling. 10.5 younger than dad. 12.5 years older than me. Uncle Hank was one of the people who instilled the love of sports in me. I remember thinking he was a little crazy hollering at a TV and the game. Who gets that passionate? Hmmm, yeah friends, that's where I get it. At Christmas, since Uncle ...
