We walked into Santiago on Friday the 11 May, around about 10am, went straight to the Pilgrims office to get our final stamps and our Compestella certificates! Saturday, 5 May 2012. Second Stage of Our Camino. We stayed in a very expensive place (by accident) we thought was 15 Euros but was 50 euros for the night! We have heard that this has been the coldest and wettest month of May in Spain in years! But we are tough and determined - we have to rememeber to put one step in front of the other - this builds character (so they say! Cheers for now. x. The Jewel of Burgos" - the beautiful cathedral. Tuesday, 8 May 2012. Third Stage Days 2 and 3. Hi everyone - they say "The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain" Well it rains every Bl.y where here! I know we are on the Camino but I am allowed to swear sometimes! It rained ALL day today! All 26km of it! Yesterday we walked from Portemarin to Palas De Rei 25km - mostly rain - with some sun for about 3 hours! This has been an experience up to now thats words cannot explain! Our dorm in Palas De Rei. Picnic lunch - yes - in the rain!

Saturday, 7 April 2012. Preparations for Our Camino. Well - we cant believe that the time has gone by so quickly since we decided to do the Camino end of last year. We leave for UK on the 19th April, then head down to Paris on the 23 April to celebrate Stews 60th for 3 days, and then. we head for Saint Jean Pied De Port in the foothills of the Pyrenees on the 26th to start our Camino on the 27th. Farewell family get-together - Uncle Paul and our Camino advisor/mentor Jenny. Monsieur and Madam Hall.

Thursday, 10 May 2012. Well the last couple of days has been pleasant weatherwise - sunny and getting hot. We are shedding our warmer long sleeve clothes now for T-shirts and shorts! We left Ribadasi Wed morning about 9am with a little spit and a spot and then the sun came out! We got to Arco De Pino about 3pm after a leisurely walk. We spoilt ourselves and stayed in a Pension for the night. Woke up this morning to a beautiful sunny hot day! Tomorrow is our final walk into Santiago! Picnic (in the sun).

Wednesday, 2 May 2012. This slowed us down a lot trying to contend with walking along the paths that had become muddy streams almost ankle deep with water in places. We arrived in Zubriri, looking like drowned ¨muddy¨ rats! We found a place to stay, a pension, but had to walk up 5 floors to our room! Today we caught a bus to Logrono, Stewart not feeling too well so we are having a rest day today and we catch a bus later this afternoon at about 3pm to Leon where we hope to stay somewhere for the night.
