Hallux Rigidus Surgery

For the past 3 years, I've had steadily increasing problems with my right big toe joint and my right ankle. I finally decided to have surgery. The doctor reviewed my foot and decided to perform a moberg-akin procedure to help improve my range of motion in my right big toe. Also, the doctor decided to scope my right ankle to remove the bone spurs that I had accumulated. This blog will be a description of anything and everything that has happened since I had the surgery on 4/27/2009.

Also, here are the workouts that I've done since then. 1a - Windmills (4 x 10 (25 lbs). 1b - Seesaws (4 x 10) (35 lbs). 2a - Swings (4 x 10) (35 lbs). 2b - Squats (4 x 10) (45 lbs). 1 x 3 min round on the bag. 3a - Figure Eights (2 x 10) (35 lbs) (2 x 10) (45 lbs). 3b - Alternating Rows (4 x 10) (45 lbs).

Monday, June 29, 2009. 6/30/2009 - 65 days after surgery. Rode 12 miles around the city on the mountain bike. Foot felt pretty good towards the middle and on through the end of the ride. Climbed the mountain.took tower trail (2.5 miles) up the mountain and backside trail (.9 miles) back down the mountain.got the workout in about 1 hour. Walked 4 laps around the track at the middle school (1 mile). Hallux Rigidus on the web. 6/30/2009 - 65 days after surgery. 6/24/2009 - 59 days after surgery.

Wednesday, October 14, 2009. 10/14/2009 - 169 days after surgery. Ran a lap around the gym today between every set in the weight room.my cardio sucks! Also, went to the gym tonight and shot threes until I made 50 three pointers while sprinting to the opposite side of the court between shots. Finished up with shooting until making 50 more midrange shots. Ended up taking me about 75 minutes which isn't that far off of where I was before surgery. Working my way up to going out running one day.
