Roncesvalles Victorian Reno Diary: August 2009
http://roncesrenodiary.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 7, 2009. Where has the time gone? I wish i had a really good excuse for not posting in the last year and 4 months, but the truth is i've just been carried away enjoying my life here in Roncesvalles Village, and busy with work, renovating and life. So where did i leave off, oh yes that's right i had set out the grand master list of renovation projects. So have we managed to get through our list? Will we ever re-coup the costs we've spent on renovating? Stay married through out the process?

Roncesvalles Victorian Reno Diary: March 2008
http://roncesrenodiary.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 22, 2008. First came Angelo, from Visic Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning. Dealing with him was about as much fun as rolling around in a patch of poison ivy. The minute he walked in the door, he declared with all the certainty one could muster, "I know why this house was on the market for so long! Actually Angelo, it was on the market for only four days", my wife corrected. Before even seeing the whole house he was declaring the job "Impossible! We were very glad when Angelo left.

Tuesday, November 17, 2009. WHY THE #%$ WONT YOU STOP LEAKING, DAMMIT? Aka Installing a Shower Valve). Have you ever walked down the plumbing aisle at your local building store and wondered why they have so many different types of teflon tape and pipe joint compounds? Here's what i learned:. 1 No matter how much you think you might be saving, don't ever buy the cheap teflon tape. There's a very good reason why some rolls cost 4 bucks and others cost 39 cents. 3 Shut off valves are your friend. Overall we...

Roncesvalles Victorian Reno Diary: Back With Another IKEA Hack
http://roncesrenodiary.blogspot.com/2012/02/back-with-another-ikea-hack.html
Saturday, February 11, 2012. Back With Another IKEA Hack. Worked out in Sidney's room, we thought we'd do it again, but with a few added features. You can click here to see my feature on IKEA Hackers. We started with two IKEA PAX units, which standing on their own aren't very attractive. So i decided i'd fill in the rest of the wall with. I started by building a nice level platform upon which the PAX and side cabinets would stand upon:. Then i cut and painted all the pieces for the 2 side cabinets:.

Roncesvalles Victorian Reno Diary: IKEA Love/Hate
http://roncesrenodiary.blogspot.com/2010/10/ikea-lovehate.html
Wednesday, October 6, 2010. By one of my all-time favourite design heros. Talks about how to do this. So we figured why not apply that same creative thinking to the Pax. Here’s what we did to disguise the ugly melamine side and make it look more like a custom built-in. I started by building a solid level platform out of 2x6's and plywood:. Anyhow to finish it all up, I installed baseboard, quarter round and crown moulding around the room to give the unit a built-in look:. The units have height adjustable...

House Pour: No More Lights, Help!
http://house-pour.blogspot.com/2012/02/no-more-lights-help.html
Meet Elz and Rob. Friday, February 10, 2012. No More Lights, Help! Where have all the good lights gone? We're trying to replace the ugly ugly ceiling fan in the living room but we can't find a single thing we agree on. This picture is (obviously) from Christmas and before the Hutch. I drew it in to remind you ;). The only thing we've vaguely liked (okay I've liked) is the Eden pendent from CB2. Seen here all hiked up like we'd need it to be:. But it's not LOVE. Posted by Elz @House Pour. We have a ceilin...

His and Hers: DIY Lace Overlay Pillow
http://his-and-hers-blog.blogspot.com/2012/05/diy-lace-overlay-pillow.html
DIY Lace Overlay Pillow. It’s been a while since I’ve made a pillow. Let’s correct that immediately. I think that this time, I’ll channel my inner granny. And make a project using….lace. DIY Lace Overlay Pillow. I was inspired by this. Pillow at Pier 1. My fancy supplies consist of an old window valance and a red t-shirt that had been relegated to the donation pile- and a cat who makes it her personal business to be in as many photos as possible. Don’t be like me. Use real fabric. Then you simply pin it ...
