John Titus had the contract to build the Hampton Lighthouse. It was built November 1911 by Joseph Marshall on a parcel of land bought from Lloyd Brooks. The Coast Guard re-shingled the sides and repaired the top, starting between February and May 1993. In 2001 The Department of Fisheries and Oceans passed the lighthouse over to the Hampton Lighthouse Society. Follow Highway 101 through Annapolis Valley; exit (20) onto old Highway 1 (Granville Street) towards Bridgetown. Turn right in Bridgetown on Church Street and follow over North Mountain to an intersection. Turn left and follow a short distance to Hampton. Hampton Christmas Craft Sale. This is a reminder that there is a Christmas Craft Sale at the Hampton Hall on Sunday, November 24th from 1pm until 4pm. Several great vendors will there as well as a tea room. Hope to see you there! The organizers of this event would like to thank the vendors who braved the dodgy weather to make for a very nice craft fair. A white square tower with a red lantern. It retains its 6th order dioptric lens. The lighthouse, perched on a hill above the fishing harbour, took six years of hard work to obtain. It’s in good shape. It even retains the original lens. Early in the summer of 2008, a new Board of Directors was elected.
