Apologies for the delay on posting some photos of my trip and for the lack of posting in general. Life has been pretty crazy since I got home. Here are a few photos in particular that I’d like to share and explain. This is the view from my hotel room window. I spent a lot of time just looking out the window watching what life is like for these people. Fascinating to watch anonymously from the 8th floor. This is the infamous alley Dave and I walked through behind our hotel on that first day. You are readi...

Setting a Proper Corner Radius · Oaktree Creative

Setting a Proper Corner Radius. Rounded corners are a key component in interface design. Apple’s iPhone, in particular, vaulted these little rounded-corner square-shaped icons into prominence. You see rounded corners everywhere these days. And all to often, I see rounded corners that seem to have been executed as an afterthought. 9 Dec 2011 at 9:29 am. I’ve seen this a lot too and it’s really not that hard to spot. Hopefully everyone takes your advice. :). 9 Dec 2011 at 9:33 am. Great point. I could ...

User Experience Margin · Oaktree Creative

How much is User Experience worth? Would you be willing to pay a bit more for a product if you also knew you’d get a better experience? I’ve had to answer these questions lately and based on personal experience, my answer is definitely yes. And then they started the work. The project is complete. Now and we are very pleased with the results. So, it started out really well and ended really well. But that time in between made for one of the worst, most stressful weeks we’ve had in a long time. I had a long...

8212; adrian @ 6:12 am. Over the winter, I grew out my beard more than I’d ever had. I trimmed it short a few weeks ago with one day in between with giant mutton chops on the sides and a short beard in the middle, which is a style that’s surprisingly subtle (at least a few of my coworkers didn’t notice it). Adrian is pretty good. 8212; adrian @ 8:16 pm. I went to Adrian, Michigan recently, fulfilling a 15 year old goal. Here are some photos! 8212; adrian @ 3:38 am. Time slows, time hastens. I’ve be...

8212; adrian @ 12:06 pm. I went to American Field. An American-made goods festival, yesterday and it was pretty cool. There were a lot of nice products there. But a lot of the products were also quite expensive, which makes sense because these are new companies battling start-up and capital costs (or are making every product by hand, with no operational efficiency). I now have three of their belts and I love. The same company that made the glasses you picture when you picture NASA engineers and Malcolm X...
