Of Sarai Mitnick for a long time, and when her line of menswear-specific patterns, Walden. Came out, I was in love. The first pattern to catch my eye, the Albion Duffel. I went so far as to make a “wearable” muslin this past winter in order to practice pattern matching and obtain the best fit. The end result. Cheap fabric from Joanns, so despite only a few wearings, it looks pretty crappy.

A dropcloth is something that can get messy- a piece of fabric that you can afford to make a mistake with. You can jump in and take a risk! My company, Dropcloth Samplers, is a line of hand-drawn embroidery samplers, printed and ready for you to jump in and start stitching right away. Sunday, May 31, 2015. This year I am forgetting about trying to grow vegetables and sticking to easy plants. We never get enough sun for vegetable plants and I am terrible at the upkeep. I picked up some climbers so I am envisioning this being an amazing paradise this summer. It already sort of is. Lots and lots of coleus. It is my favorite plant. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. I just finished a quilt as a wedding gift for my friends. It was actually many months after their wedding, but who's counting. I went with a super simple design and used mostly linen. I found this fabric for binding at a shop in Mt. Airy, Handcraft Workshop. It's a great shop and I didn't even realize it was there until I just so happened to find it on yelp. Linen is a real bitch to work with, but it looks so great once it's quilted. It has the best texture. The best thing ever.
