Monday, July 13, 2015. Ceramic Tile (Wall Piece). The piece measures 30" x 38" x 1 1/2", and is held to the wall using french cleats, which I made as well. All the wood was sanded by hand and then I painted the edges and the cleats, using a black satin latex paint. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Lovelessclay: The Antikythera Mechanism

http://lovelessclay.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-antikythera-mechanism.html

Thursday, November 8, 2012. Here is a video about the "Antikythera Mechanism" which is the type of thing that is inspiring my new work. Many of you probably know about it, but if not, I urge you to watch this video. It's kind of long, and a bit dramatic, but very interesting non the less. November 12, 2012 at 9:24 AM. Travis Winters Blog: October 2013

http://traviswinters.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 17, 2013. Been a while since I have posted anything, but I have still been keeping busy in the studio. Here is a bouncing/jumping guinea pig that I recently finished. By using an old car shock spring, I was able to make the guinea bobble and sway over the moon. This was a very fun piece to construct and I was pleasantly surprised when everything finally came together. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Simple template. Thursday, October 25, 2012. Barrel of Monkeys Style! So my latest project involves hanging glazed pieces from each other from a base supported by bricks. Crazy, I know. I took some progress shots as I was building it up.errr.down. Some of the images are a little blurry, sorry about that. Printed on "melting clay" balanced over the top.

Lovelessclay: September 2012

http://lovelessclay.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 30, 2012. How Many Failures Does it Take to Screw in a Lightbulb. I was going to devote this post to the other piece I've been working on. It involved hanging pieces from each other barrel-o-monkey style from a larger base suspended upside-down in the kiln on stacks of bricks. The base cracked in the bisque bad enough that I deemed it unsafe to attempt such a construction and risk it all tumbling down. Saturday, September 22, 2012. Inspiration for New Work.
