The skies for a good part of the day looked like we may actually get snow. Our guide for the day was Smokey, a colourful character who was lots of fun. We hiked around the blue mountains and then stopped off at the Katoomba Scenic Railway to take a ride on the world’s steepest rail track. And boy it was steep! I believe that knowledge is gained in order to be shared with others, and isn't something to be hoarded and kept to ourselves. I'm an avid outdoors person and I believe that education about, exposure to, and conservation of the natural world are just as important as the teachings within our four classroom walls.
