Buying train and bus tickets in China is easy. Hotels can usually buy tickets for you for a (usually small) fee. The following is meant as a guide for planning your itinerary. Trains leave starting at about 6:15am and the last until about 9:30. The last trains back to Shanghai leave around 9:30, getting into Hongqiao Station around 11pm, just when the subway is closing, so if you want to be sure to get the subway, best to leave by 9:00pm.
