Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Using the Literal Principle to Understand the Literature of the Bible. You are called to interpret the Word of God just as you interpret other forms of communication in the most obvious, the most natural sense. As it has been well said, to interpret the Bible literally is to interpret the Bible as literature. Thus, when a biblical author uses a symbol or an allegory, we do violence to his intentions if we interpret him literally. Posted by Hank Hanegraaff. Im sure that you will...

Tuesday, March 16, 2010. What gives life meaning to you? Right now I am reading through Ecclesiastes, and it’s riveting! The author examines the utter futility and folly of living for oneself and hoarding riches. What’s the point in chasing after that which is but for a short time? Naked we came into the world and naked we will leave. Posted by Hank Hanegraaff. Monday, March 8, 2010. Why Must We Participate in Church? Will you show up for an Easter worship service this year out of guilt, childhood habit,...

Wednesday, October 7, 2009. If you are not healed, do you lack faith? A social media question via Facebook from Frieda recently got my attention. She wrote, “How do you answer people when they tell you, you are lacking faith? 8221; So imagine this scene you have a paraplegic in the church, and people are telling the paraplegic he doesn’t have enough faith because if he had enough faith he wouldn’t be a paraplegic. This of course begs the question: What is faith? Posted by Hank Hanegraaff. Ask God, Boris,...

Monday, March 16, 2009. What Age Will We Be in Heaven? Answering this question does require a bit of sanctified speculation. First of all, when God created Adam and Eve in Eden, He created them with apparent age. Also, Jesus apparently died and resurrected at the prime of His physical development. We will then have a new body-soul unity for which we long. If we say we want to go to heaven, I think it is incumbent upon on us to know just what heaven will be like. Posted by Hank Hanegraaff. Furthermore, ou...

Monday, July 7, 2008. The Importance of Church Attendance. Spiritual growth is simply impossible apart from membership in a healthy, well-balanced church. It's the church through which we receive the Word and the sacraments as a means of grace, and therefore it's crucial that we emulate the early Christians who devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship and to the breaking of bread and to prayer. The Ninja’s Hangout. Thoughts on God and all kinds of other things from a ninja’s perspective. October 22, 2008 in Uncategorized. So I deleted some of my prior posts. The main reason is that I cannot keep up with those where I need to make subsequent posts with more information. I guess I’m just not as good at blogging as I thought. Oh well, I’ll start small this time and won’t make huge goals that I can’t attain. I need this to help me, not necessarily you. ;). Alpha and Omega ministries. Sir Think A Lot.

The Ninja’s Hangout. Thoughts on God and all kinds of other things from a ninja’s perspective. February 3, 2009 in Uncategorized. Goes to Ben Witherington for this post on Descartes. It helped me realize a little bit more of what Descarte’s worldview actually was. I also thought that the presentation of Descartes was fair showing both the weaknesses and strengths of his positions. I need this to help me, not necessarily you. ;). Alpha and Omega ministries. The Ninja’s Hangout. Thoughts on God and all kinds of other things from a ninja’s perspective. Are we too dependent on the internet? January 14, 2009 in Uncategorized. This thought also got me thinking about what it would be like for an individual to simply go without the internet for the rest of their life if they live here in America or some other 1st world country. Can it even be done? On it for their lives to function. I don’t think this dependency will turn out to be a good thing in the end. Leave a...

The Ninja’s Hangout. Thoughts on God and all kinds of other things from a ninja’s perspective. Should I jump on the Preterist bandwagon? September 16, 2008 in Christianity. Note: when I say “Preterism” in this post, I’m talking about what is called either Orthodox Preterism or Partial Preterism. Dispensationalists will always say that we are in the last age: the age of Laodicea (the lukewarm church). I agree that a lot of the church in America is lukewarm, but is that the case all over the world? His exp...

The Ninja’s Hangout. Thoughts on God and all kinds of other things from a ninja’s perspective. November 24, 2008 in Christianity. I’m an amateur musician. I play several different instruments. Being bent towards theology as well, I’ve wondered what it is about music that makes people gather around a regular guy like me to hear me play one of my instruments or to listen to the band when they play worship music. Heck, why do we have worship music anyway? I need this to help me, not necessarily you. ;).

SPOILER WARNING FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN’T SEEN SOME OF THESE MOVIES. I usually do not go to the movies because I find that many of them are not really worth seeing. However, this summer I changed that and saw a lot more than usual. Normally I will see about 2 or 3 movies a year. Yes, that’s right, a YEAR. 1 The Dark Knight – A. 2 Iron Man – A.

Friday, March 27, 2009. Christians are often accused of having blind faith. Punmesiter Bill Maher has said that Christianity stops people from thinking and in essence gives them blind faith. Here’s what he said on Larry King Live:. Now I think Maher is involved in silly superstitious pursuits himself, because in reality nothing could be farther from the truth. Ultimately, what is blind and bigoted is the erection of an imaginary dichotomy between faith and reason. Thankfully, God often uses evidence and ...
