This Vault of Heaven: November 2008
http://thisvaultofheaven.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
This Vault of Heaven. The man, the beard, the Orthodox Christian Church. Thursday, November 27, 2008. In honor of popular Christmas imagery, I am dedicating this post to St Nicholas of Myra, the Christian directly associated with the figure Santa Claus. St Nicholas lived around 270 to 320 AD. He lived in a Greek speaking province of the Roman Empire that would now be located in modern Turkey. Although there are a variety of different stories surrounding his surreptitious. In India: December 2008
http://kathleen-inindia.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 16, 2008. I don't think India is going to make me happy or fulfilled either, it's just a step in the right life path direction. The logistics of the plan are well in order. I have the plane tickets. Our visas were just finished, and I am hoping to get to the visa office off of Dupont Circle tomorrow to pick them up. It will be so good to see them embedded there in our passports. I'm getting chills just thinking about it now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Straight from the Farm.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009. I've never had a phone that could do much, just call and text. I haven't really seen the use for the extra features up untill now. I would really like to get the Palm Pre or one of the new Google phones coming out this year however, but I can't really afford it. OMG I'm years behind with phones haha. Anyway, posted below is my new ringtone. It's a piece called Ziwzhi Ziwzhi oo-oo-oo-oo by the extraordinarily cool Delia Derbyshire. Tags: Alchemists of Sound.

Monday, December 29, 2008. Dial a Creep Strap Girl. Thursday, December 25, 2008. Cold/Minimal Wave pt. I: Medio Mutante. I think I'm in love with this cold wave. Revival thing that's apparently going on. But I probably should check out some of the real deal 80's stuff too. I know myself well enough to not be quite sure if I'll have any interest in this tomorrow though. So this first post is about Medio Mutante. They make music I want to dance to and they make pretty cool and trippy videos (COLORS! This i...

Peace and Dirt: Tractorina
http://peaceanddirt.blogspot.com/2009/03/tractorina.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2009. So, today I learned how to drive the tractor. It was pretty easy, but it's something I'm proud to say now is part of my life. Basically, I had to move a whole lot of compost and dirt around, having something to do with planting peonies. Below are some peonies just coming up. They kind of look like strange mushrooms to me. In addition to flowers, there are a few animals here on the farm: a dog named Lady, two cats named Disco and Max, and a flock of chickens, 8 hens and one rooste...

Peace and Dirt: Sugar and Spice
http://peaceanddirt.blogspot.com/2008/11/sugar-and-spice.html
Friday, November 28, 2008. I contend that my mom’s gingersnap recipe makes some of the best cookies in holiday circulation. Of the myriad baked goods and confectioneries that accompany the fall and winter, these spiced cookies are amongst the most classic, simple, and comforting indulgences. Staples of fall and winter seasonal fare. Ginger, of course, is a root the flesh of which has a distinctive and pungent kick to it. The cultivation and use of it in food and medicine began in India and southeast Asia.
