Work, eat, sleep, and repeat. Saturday, July 30, 2005. The finale of the Batman game finally took place on Friday. Batman was captured, rescued by the campers, and soaked in the process (only this time we were in control of the water). Saturday was Batman, aka Tigger, aka Geoff's final retreat as officer in charge of camp. He'll be moving on next summer when his wife, Leslie is ordained as a minister. We will miss you both. Work, eat, sleep, and repeat. Thursday, September 01, 2005. Girlfriend in a Coma. Every single second of our lives we're crossing a finish line of some sort, with heaven's roaring cheers surrounding us as we win our way forward. Our smallest acts are as though we are ripping through an Olympic ribbon to thunderous applause. The universe wants. Us to win. The universe makes sure we're winning even when we lose. Douglas Coupland, Girlfriend in a Coma. Wow, how true! Everyone should read Girlfriend in a Coma.

An occasional blog about the things that happen when I break the cycle of working, eating and sleeping. London, United Kingdom. I'm an environmental engineer with one of the quirkiest (and one of the best) practices in the business. When I'm not designing buildings I do a bit of youthwork. I also juggle, play a little jazz piano (badly! View my complete profile.

Work, eat, sleep, and repeat. Friday, December 30, 2005. Yay, 80 people have added the Make Poverty History. Tag to their 43 Things lists this year. It's nearly 2006 and the year of concentrated campaigning for trade justice, cancellation of unpayable third world debt, and more and better aid. Is drawing to a close. Some of our politicians have made some promising noises, so let's hope that (with a little continued pressure from us) they can start to make the world a better, fairer place.

Can someone please remind me why there are only six lists of seven things though? Things I want to do before I die:. 2 Design my own house. 4 Write a book. 7 Inspire a future generation. Things I cannot do:. 2 Gain weight (sorry, maybe I'm just not trying hard enough). 3 Touch my toes without bending my knees. 4 Remember birthdays or phone numbers. 4 Depth of character.

Work, eat, sleep, and repeat. Wednesday, August 24, 2005. The new new, and the old new. This morning most of us went to the Aquapark. Near Jurmala. Not sure what else to say about it really, it was a water park, it was fun, and it had high-tech funky bracelet things. Riga has a very large Jugendstil (art nouveau) district, which I would have loved to have seen more of. Some of the best buildings were designed by Mikhail Eisenstein, including the pictured one at 10b Elizabetes iela. Special, but it looks ...
