During this period I was a member of the Catgut Acoustical Society in the USA, as well as of the Southern Californian Violin Makers Association. I also visited trade fairs in Frankfurt and Cremona to get a better overall insight into the world of musical instruments. Qualified violinmakers from Mittenwald in Germany have also worked in my workshop which also provided valuable information regarding the making and restoration of stringed instruments. I work from my home in Pretoria, where I have my workshop.
