Hannibal's Animals: July 2012
http://hannibalsanimals.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Originally uploaded by Hannibals Animals. UPDATE: Took the owl to a rescue. Very lethargic so will call and get updates on its health tomorrow. UPDATE: It died of neurological issues around 4:30pm yesterday. The vet worked on him all day and at 1 point thought there was a chance, but then turned for the worse. Suspect: West Nile Virus. Labels: great horned owl. Monday, July 2, 2012. Various angles, interesting lighting and a catch of the day sealed the deal! Click on comments or...

Hannibal's Animals: November 2012
http://hannibalsanimals.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 17, 2012. Originally uploaded by Hannibals Animals. An encounter with this guy produced very poor quality photos, but I just had to give this guy respect for his his "craziness"! It looks as if he has a long drop tine that forks off. Anyway, I thought he was really cool. I added a filter application to try to hide the poor quality. Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Just look at those massive beams! Friday, November 2, 2012. My 2013 Wildlife Calendar is NOW available! I had these made with the...

http://hannibalsanimals.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 30, 2012. I'm sooo glad to be blogging again! It's been a long time coming and frustrating at times, but finally, I found something blogworthy! The rut is coming, the rut is coming! My favorite time of year is here! Here's a look at the first big buck I have photo'd this season. He was awesome! He gave quite a show, standing broadside checking me out, as he finally wandered away looking for better deeper cover to hide in. What a great buck to lead off the rut! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Friday, June 7, 2013. Years and years of wildlife photography, 1000's of miles on the odometer, and hours upon hours I can never get back (or want to), searching for creatures big and small is how I spend my free time. A wishlist in my head of encounters yet to be discovered is born, dreaming of once-in-a-lifetime moments like this one I had this morning. Magical is all I can say. I truly love those pics, nice job. June 8, 2013 at 10:09 AM. Could he be ANY sweeter? How cute. Dont know if anyone else ...

Tuesday, September 30, 2008. South Dakota - Bison. While we were in the Black Hills(Custer State Park), we took a Bison Safari which was very cool. They actually take you off road up into the hills and right into the Bison herd. There are about 1500 in the herd and you get quite close to them throughout the tour. Here are a couple of shots. Tuesday, July 07, 2009. Killdeer at Sherburne NWR. We immediately backed off and the bird took a few steps to the right and sat down. I started to take some photographs only to realize that this bird was actually sitting on an egg. She had made her nest (for all practical purposes) right in the middle of the parking area! Anyway, we backed away to the car, which was only about 20 feet from the nest, and left the bird alone. Here are the shots that came out of that brief encounter with the Killdeer.

Friday, October 24, 2008. I was recently down in Stillwater walking along the river and snapped a few shots of the gulls. They were so close I decided to get a few head shots.
