Our Journey

Monday, August 11, 2014. A Change is Coming! Just over a year ago we returned from "Missionary Life". Hans started a new job. I began teaching again. The kids started in the public school system. Ashlyn had a regular babysitter for the first time. Life was crazy. Life was hectic. Life was busy. We weren't sure which direction to go or what to look for. We had no idea what was next for us and it was very unsettling, frustrating, and discouraging. And, "What do we do now? An update (only a year later) :).

Our Journey: GO and DO the same

http://hansandjami.blogspot.com/2013/02/go-and-do-same.html

Wednesday, February 6, 2013. GO and DO the same. I am always asking God for ways to help out. I am always looking for ways to be a blessing. I am always trying to find new things to do. I am always searching. On the way out I heard the words "Americana" and "Amor" about 3 teams and I began to wonder why I was actually doing this. And then I remembered. One of Wyatt's favorite books and stories in the bible, The Good Samiritan. BECAUSE that's what HE calls us to do. Go and do the same!

Our Journey: Amazing!

http://hansandjami.blogspot.com/2013/05/amazing.html

Friday, May 10, 2013. May has been one of the most amazing months for so many reasons. Hans's parents came to visit. Hans and I got to get away for a weekend with the SI staff at the SI staff retreat. What a great, restful, refreshing three days away without kids. Got to spend an amazing night away with great friends while another great friend watched our kids. I feel like we're going out with a BANG! We're beginning to say good byes. Pray for us as we wrap things up here. Pray for good "good byes".

Our Journey: What's Next?

http://hansandjami.blogspot.com/2013/07/whats-next.html

Wednesday, July 17, 2013. 1 a traveling from one place to another, usually taking a rather long time; trip: a six-day journey across the desert. 2 a distance, course, or area traveled or suitable for traveling: a desert journey. 3 a period of travel: a week's journey. 4 passage or progress from one stage to another: the journey to success. So I write today about what? About the next journey? About life as it is right now? About how God is working and moving in our family? About all of that? We're attendi...

http://hollowayministries.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Follow us and our work in the Dominican Republic. MiBanco Esperanza from Los Higos. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. A couple weeks ago my parents came to the DR. It was the first time out of the country for either of my parents. I asked my mom if she'd like to write a blog post about her week and she agreed:. Ryan made sure that our Dominican Republic trip was full of adventure as well as getting to know his ministry site. We went to several bank sites and actually attended a bank meeting one evening. The next ...

Sharing the Journey: August 2010

http://thebontragerstory.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 28, 2010. These are the kind of days I will remember forever. Days when the blessing of a grandma, mother-in-law and mom come together to help with a big project that would be overwhelming for me to do myself. So thankful for their help and so thankful for the joy they brought to our home that day. I wish I could bottle up the wonderful smell of apples cooking on the stove that filled my house that day. So thankful for how they love on my children and are eager to hold them. You have bri...

Monday, February 22, 2010. Riviera Maya with my Valentine. Well, here they finally are.photos of our romantic get away vacation that we took a couple weeks ago. It really feels like it was all a dream and I just sit here and smile when I think about the wonderful sweet memories of this trip that we felt so blessed to be a part of. We arrived in Mexico on Thursday, February 11th. Our hotel picked us up at the airport in this limo. We took a 20 minute boat trip to a small Mexican town called Puerto Morelos.

Sharing the Journey: One

http://thebontragerstory.blogspot.com/2012/03/one.html

Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Deacon's one-year photos were taken recently. I hired a photographer this time instead of taking them myself. So nice to sit back and let someone else take them instead of me.although I still love it. She did a wonderful job. His personality was captured so well. When we got there, he was shy.clinging to his mama with a tight grip. The above photo shows his apprehension so well. LOL. The more photos she took, the more he relaxed and we even got some smiles after awhile. :). He pl...

Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Shuttle Take-Off and Beach Vacation. The guys got up early on Monday morning of our vacation to travel to the Kennedy Space Center to watch shuttle Discovery take off into space. It sounded like everyone had the same idea and traffic made it impossible to get there on time for the take-off. They were 40 miles away, pulled over and were still able to get a pretty good view. Enjoying the beautiful Florida sunset with my honey. :). Swim time with the cousins. Our condo had a beaut...

Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Two Months With a New Baby. It was an incredible blessing to have my parents here for Gabby's birth. My mom stayed for a whole month to help us out and it made the transition to three kiddos so much easier. The boys enjoyed lots of Nana and Papa time and even got to show them a few parts of the island. Here are a few snapshots of what we have been up since the last post. Sam has kept himself busy creating and building with legos. I love the vehicles he comes up with on his own.

my days with amazing children | Just another WordPress.com site

My days with amazing children. Just another WordPress.com site. Hengyang – Part I. September 13, 2010. Hengyang (衡陽) was one of the smaller cities in 湖南(Hunan) Province. ICC currently has a project there, housing 130 children altogether. We situate right beside the government’s welfare centre. This picture was shot on a Friday, I believe it was July 23rd in the AM. So I came to this place, the “basement” floor of our old orphanage building, just hanging out with children. September 10, 2010. Create a fre...
