Despite the expectation of everyone and my brother that you'd want to join the party early, Cinco de Mayo (aka "d day") came and went and you sat tight in your incubation chamber. Mommy even tried the Ansley trick and got a mani/pedi on your due date (at the same place). But alas, you were stubborn and stayed put. Being the giant nerd that I am. Do I press pound after or just hang up? How does a pager even work these days?

Welcome to my mclife. Tuesday, December 21, 2010. 16 months just the other day}. Wiping your hands and face after a meal. Getting your hair washed. Putting your hair up. Pretty much anything having to do with your hair. Cutting new teeth (we all dislike that one). Shaking your head vehemently in indication of dislikes. Green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet tea. Playing with the hairdryer. Soft things (like blankets and "bobo"s). Being held when you're upset or not feeling well. Yes, it's built for dolls.

Welcome to my mclife. Thursday, September 23, 2010. 13 months - and a pinch}. Mommy had an insignificant number birthday (alright it was the big 3-0) at the end of August, for which daddy got us tickets to New York. It was the first time we'd left you for more than a day/night (wow can you believe we spent a year by your side? Guess that separation anxiety works both ways. Laying in Bo's "lap"). Welcome to my mclife. Friday, June 18, 2010. Daddy is still resistant to your growth. I mean I'd like to keep you a baby as long as possible, but am aware that at some point, Peter Pan, everyone has to grow up. So I said to your (normally intelligent, fairly rational) father "I mean I'd like her to stay little too, but what what do you want to do, block her development? His answer was a firm and immediate ". I may be starting to see daddy's point of view on this whole not growing up thing. I'm joking....
