steps on our journey...: First Day of Preschool
http://theemmansfamily.blogspot.com/2011/08/first-day-of-preschool.html
On again. off again. sporadic windows into our lives. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. First Day of Preschool. He's been ready though. For a long time. Ready to jump in there and brave the world of preschool. His one (little) concern a few days ago had been What if they play a game that I don't know? Now, for all you moms out there, I admit that watching him walk in there and sit down in his chair, then say good bye to us and jump right into the world of school without looking back, my breath caught a little.

Faith, Family, and Food: So What HAVE I Been Doing?
http://dauphinfamily.blogspot.com/2014/07/so-what-have-i-been-doing.html
Faith, Family, and Food. Praying, Making, and Baking. Thursday, July 10, 2014. So What HAVE I Been Doing? I must state the obvious-I definitely have not been blogging :). What have I been doing done here in the desert? But we also knew this was an amazing opportunity and one that had come straight from God's hand. We had to take it. But we have five kids. And they are expensive. Most grad students are single, or newly married. Not old with five kids! I have seven direct teammates. And I love every si...

Faith, Family, and Food: Homeschooling Update
http://dauphinfamily.blogspot.com/2014/02/homeschooling-update.html
Faith, Family, and Food. Praying, Making, and Baking. Saturday, February 1, 2014. So we've been quite busy around these parts! But I am happy to report that all has gone back to normal on the playground. The little girl has gone back out to play with my boys and there have not been any more issues. We are a thankful bunch over here! There are many reasons for this. One is that it will simplify our moving so much. It is such hard work to move! The products are amazing. My skin looks-wow! This homeschoolin...

Faith, Family, and Food: September 2013
http://dauphinfamily.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Faith, Family, and Food. Praying, Making, and Baking. Friday, September 13, 2013. Reflections on my Childbearing Years. Because Steve and I have not felt at a place to make things permanent. It just seems, well, permanent. There is something in both of our hearts that just really has a hard time with that. However, we do feel like our arms are full of blessings and neither of us desires any more children. At least, not at this time. Not just for my children, but mostly for me. I am the one who has ch...

Can't Clock Out: January 2014
http://cantclockout.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 18, 2014. Organizing. Your Mail. Bills, forms, checks, coupons. plus all the junk you get in the mail these days. What's your system? Do you bring it in the house and toss it on the counter/table? Let's get this situation under control shall we? First things first. don't get your mail unless you can spare a couple (and it's literally one or two) minutes to go through it RIGHT AFTER you bring it in the house. "Well, then I'll never get my mail," you say. "YES YOU CAN! Our organizer hangs...

Faith, Family, and Food: July 2013
http://dauphinfamily.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Faith, Family, and Food. Praying, Making, and Baking. Thursday, July 25, 2013. Tolkien, Our Anniversary and Safeway. We've had an eventful day. Heck everyday is eventful. It started so mellow and sweet. This morning one of the girls from Cross Country visited. Can I just say it now, I love this girl. Such a great kid. Everytime I get to hang out with her, I love every minute of it. I'm blessed to know her. Here is Joshua dressed up as Bombur from the Hobbit. Totally typical of all their personalities.

Faith, Family, and Food: January 2014
http://dauphinfamily.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Faith, Family, and Food. Praying, Making, and Baking. Sunday, January 26, 2014. Erroring on the Side of Grace. So we are getting used to a new life here. There are many wonderful things, some okay things and some difficult things. Such is the stuff of uprooting and committing to a nomadic life of grad school with five children in tow! I am also learning how to homeschool which is a huge job in itself, especially because I want to do a good job! No but seriously, on the outside things don't look all that ...

Faith, Family, and Food: That Time I Needed a Babysitter
http://dauphinfamily.blogspot.com/2015/06/that-time-i-needed-babysitter.html
Faith, Family, and Food. Praying, Making, and Baking. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. That Time I Needed a Babysitter. Since moving from California, I have had to become much more flexible. I haven't always been that way. The first thing that prepped me for this big adventure was having a slew of kids. I can't ever predict what will come on any given day. And flying by the seat of my pants has become QUITE an art. This has helped me in our various moves. I always figure, I will get it done somehow. But Colorado ...

Can't Clock Out: February 2015
http://cantclockout.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 8, 2015. I love the way a child's brain works. there is this combination of innocence, curiosity, and honesty that can leave us wincing with embarrassment, or unleashing a good healthy belly laugh! Over the last few months, I started writing down some things my kids have said that made me laugh. My dear nanny friend, Jenn, has shared a few gems from her days working with her kiddos as well. Ben: [points to my face, just below my nose] Ewwwww! Me: That's called a pimple. Ben: I like to wr...
