We're all about people. My husband and I hoped that we would find in HAP an agency that would provide a safe, happy and comfortable home for our son. That was in the summer of 2000. Since that time there have been many challenges that have tested the depth of HAP's commitment. The imagination, compassion and honesty that has been and continues to be used to work on these challenges is awesome. We are thankful to everyone who works so hard to help our son have a bona fide good life.

We're all about people. The premise of the service is that people with developmental disabilities will have the opportunity to live as normal a life as possible using as normal of means as possible, including living in as normal of an enviroment as possible. It is not our goal to "cure" people, rather the service is directed toward accepting and supporting individuals in being who they are, while minimizing barriers to integration and pursuing self fulfillment.

We're all about people. Residential Services began in Montgomery County in 1984 in response to a request for proposals for providers to participate in the dispersal into the community of people living at Pennhurst State Center. Human Achievement Project, Inc. was formed in 1987 as a private corporation which assumed the contract previously serviced by Help A Person, Inc. of Beaver County. At that point the company provided services to twelve individuals living in four locations.

We're all about people. Providing comprehensive community residential services to individuals who have a primary diagnosis of Intellectual Developmental Disability. HAP, Inc. currently provides services in Montgomery and Cumberland Counties in Pennsylvania. These services take place in a variety of small family style homes and apartments which are designed to enable individuals to live within their own communities. Both semi-independent and twenty-four hour co-residential situations are provided.
