At HAPO is funded by TLC. Adela cooks for about 30 kids each day and when the boarding children return in the holidays Adela will have 60 to look after. The kids get a good hot lunch in the middle of the day and a cup of. Before going home. On Saturdays and holidays they also get a breakfast of tea and bread or sweet potato. The programme has 4 components:. 1 The Tabora orphans and vulnerable children day care centre (HAPO/TLC) in partnership with Tabora League for Children (TLC). 2 40 OVCs in Bukumbi and Shitage Wards in Uyui District. The children receive health checks and all the necessities for school. They are visited twice yearly by HAPO staff. 3 UHAI HIV AIDS programme. Working on testing, conclling and getting treatment for the wider population of Tabora. 4 Income generation on HAPO land. With funding from TLC.

TLC's Clean Water Programme. There is a pottery in Tabora run by blind potters. Among other items they make clay water filtration bucket liners. We bought water filter buckets and delivered them to families that needed them.

TLC's Clean Water Programme. A family rain water collection tank. The pictures below show the building of a rain water collection tank in Kiloleni, Tabora, November 2010. On the left, Deus, TCWT's Project Leader, disusses with Mama how TCWT can help her to improve her water and sanitation facilities. She collects her water from a nearby commmunal tap but said that during recent days there was no water flowing from the tap. The water is always rationed and flows, at best, for 3 hours every 48 hours.

This grandmother looking after a family of orphans needs a new toilet, her current toilet is behind the yellow sacking. Deus (shown left) will arrange for a toilet to be built. A neighbour is hired to dig the pit and he measures it out. The neighbour gets changed and starts digging. The pit is lined with bricks.
