Published on september 30,1868, concerning the lives and loves of four sisters growing up during the American Civil War. It was based on Alcott's own experiences as a child in Concord, Massachusetts. But what she lacks in looks, she can perhaps make up for in courage. Beauty is a great heroine - brainy, kind, wry-humored, brave and strong, I think. Gloriously witty adaptation of the Broadway musical about Professor Henry Higgins, who takes a bet from Colonel Pickering that he can transform unrefined, dirty Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle into a lady, and fool everyone into thinking she really is one, too!
