Photo by Karen Prue. Saturday, April 14, 2012. Yard Work 4/6/ - 4/8. I made 4 new raised beds with Aunt Sandy. Two 5' x 3' for the berry bushes and 2 4' x 4' beds as I have many more veggie varieties this year. I filled the raspberry bushes first. Then dug them out of the medicine wheel garden and transplanted them. I planted them 3 years ago. I planted blackberry, Vermont Raspberry and Golden Raspberry which blooms in the fall. I had two canes for each plant. Unfortunately. The next day I filled the new...

Photo by Karen Prue. Friday, May 4, 2012. The Garden's Are Looking Good! It has been a few weeks since I posted. The yard is coming along. My goal was to be finished with the Clean-up by Mother's Day. I am almost there! I am going to drag out the wood chipper and clean the area again. Then I am going to move the compost bin and make another bin. If I am dreaming big! Always much to do in my garden. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Gardens Are Looking Good! View my complete profile.

Cathy's Garden Journal: June 2009

Photo by Karen Prue. Sunday, June 28, 2009. Reclaiming my Yard Continued II. The brush pile is 3/4 of the way done! The good news I cleared enough, so my son could place a fence to hide the compost section of the yard from view. He used a recycled fence he painted to look like the crayola crayon box. It is white, red, yellow, blue. We are going to place solar. Lights on the posts as well. It is unique to say the least. My neighbors probably think I am nuts. We are thinking we will make this the children's.

Cathy's Garden Journal: Yard Work 4/15
http://happy2bgardening.blogspot.com/2012/04/yard-work-415.html
Photo by Karen Prue. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Well things do not always go the way you planned. I set out in the morning to to plant some seeds. Then decided to clean the leaves out of the foundation garden. This led me to the driveway. I had a ton of cinder blocks from an unfinished retaining wall I was going to try to build. I decided waste not want not and used these to line the driveway! So, once again the lettuce did not get planted. Oh well Still time. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Cathy's Garden Journal: Tomato Plants
http://happy2bgardening.blogspot.com/2012/04/tomato-plants.html
Photo by Karen Prue. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. I started my tomato plants on Mar 3rd. I cannot believe how large they are already. I moved them from the grow light last week. I put them in the dining room window. I have been turning them every day so they get enough sun. Anyway, I think it is going to be a good year for the tomatoes! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Photo by Karen Prue. Friday, March 30, 2012. Mar 30, 2012k. I must research how to take care of sage. Mine is looking very woody. I probably should prune it in the fall. I finally put the pergola back together. I tried to nail it down, but needed to be above it. I had the ladder in the wrong position. I will try again on Sunday, it was getting dark. I will also, prune the Wisteria. Thursday, March 22, 2012. Another beautiful day today it was actually 80 degrees! Monday, March 19, 2012. I cleared one side...

Cathy's Garden Journal: July 2009
http://happy2bgardening.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Photo by Karen Prue. Monday, July 13, 2009. This year, I have decided to change the chore into a joy! I know you are thinking weeding is work and work is not a joy, but it is, let me explain. First, I start early before most people are up and the sun is rising. The yard is calm, cool and the day is full of promise. I survey the garden for a moment to see what it looks like and what it could be. I don't think about the other tasks ahead, thinking too far ahead can only depress you. Thursday, July 9, 2009.
