Happy Consumptive: India Tree's Dark Muscovado Sugar
http://happyconsumptive.blogspot.com/2010/11/india-trees-dark-muscovado-sugar.html
Eating, drinking, getting. Sunday, November 07, 2010. India Tree's Dark Muscovado Sugar. The India Tree Gourmet. Line of dark sugars is yours for the grabbing at Berkeley Bowl. My favorite is the Dark Muscovado. Jam packed with molasses. It's also a real ding in any perceived aura of locavorism - hauled in from Mauritius. The Bowl has carried this stuff for years, but I don't get over there much these days. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Response to "To the Moon, Alice?

Eating, drinking, getting. Sunday, November 28, 2010. Two Days of Dessert and More On the Way. Over the years I've posted photos of this or that dessert with the tag " Just for the heck of it. The idea being that this somehow got me off the hook for putting words together. Or that photos of tasty dessert can do their own talking. Amy's Gingerbread Pear Upside Down Cake. Happy Consumptive: September 2010
http://happyconsumptive.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Eating, drinking, getting. Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Wine's Bargain Bin Still Getting Deeper. I've been assembling a case of wine from our son's birth year. The idea is that when he's 21 we'll split it. He has to drink 6 bottles with us, and can do with the other six whatever it is a twenty-one year old does. No one particular wine, no one particular region. Or even Jordan Cabernet. Often enough to appreciate year over year change. About We maxed out our case before I could even get to Italy or Spain.
Happy Consumptive: Hog Island Revisited
http://happyconsumptive.blogspot.com/2012/08/hog-island-revisited.html
Eating, drinking, getting. Monday, August 27, 2012. Had the odd experience of stumbling across my own blog in a Google search result the other night. From five years ago. I was curious about the actual paddling distance from Marshall to Hog Island. Things were different back in July 2007. We had one son, he was too young for the trip. I ate oysters. I prefer the goat burger, with the lamb burger fixings. Points for the Thomas Dolby reference. 10:13 PM, August 29, 2012. 10:19 PM, August 29, 2012. View my ...

Waiting for the euphoria to kick in. Posted by aelis at 9:44 AM. Links to this post. Imagine a 6-inch tall animal imitating the chest beating of a lusty ape. Now imagine this happening for hours on end, every day, accompanied by intense hip-gyrations and a high-pitched, repeating 'chirrrr'p.' Poor lover-boy. I hope he does not miss me now that we're moving. File under things I will miss. Posted by aelis at 1:41 PM. Links to this post. View my complete profile. My talented sister's second site.
brick house: A Four Year Hiatus
http://ourbrickhouse.blogspot.com/2011/01/four-year-hiatus.html
Wednesday, January 26, 2011. A Four Year Hiatus. Our first child's birth coincided with our adoption of Facebook. Took the momentum out of this blog and the one we'd started for him as well. In the way of most hopes and dreams, our shifted and gave way to new priorities. But something's been on my mind for about two years and this seemed like as good a place as any to address is. http://ourbrickhouse.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-do-you-roll-office-edition.html
Tuesday, October 03, 2006. How do you roll? There has to be a blog dedicated to photos taken from offices with killer views. Office porn. If you like, though I'm sure clicking on that link will take you to many many web pages filled with explicit images of "secretaries" and "bosses daughters" demonstrating innovative uses for office chairs. Saturday, April 22, 2006. With the Spurs up by 30. I'm packing some calories in as we head into the last few hours before our "Did he, or didn't he? Dinner. Where we'll open up our long standing debate, over whether or not Werner Herzog really did eat his shoe. To friends. A. contends no way. I'm a Werner-ite, and I glory in it. http://bizcasualbackpacker.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
The Business Casual Backpacker. She's never met a country she didn't like. May 10, 2010. Notes from a small island*. So I wasn't kidding about yoga retreats—I really did go on one. In silence, for five days, on Marrowstone Island. Everyone asks about the silence first. Isn't it hard? But you know what. I wasn't one of those kids who loved camp. It's 10 am, they'd say. Time to swim! Still, if you asked (after asking about the silence and was it hard), did I like the retreat? But it's a gift to give yourse...

http://bizcasualbackpacker.blogspot.com/2010/04/on-speed.html
The Business Casual Backpacker. She's never met a country she didn't like. April 14, 2010. I finally started running again. Very slowly, mind you, and not very far. But it's been about a year since the injury. Less than that since the accurate diagnosis. And it felt like time. The trick is making myself stop; the opposite of the tricks I used to play to make myself keep going, back when I was trying to transform from a sprinter into someone with actual stamina. Insidiously, it worked. If you're not half ...

The Business Casual Backpacker. She's never met a country she didn't like. June 06, 2010. This is a story about control. It occurred to me recently that I hadn't had a real group discussion about birth control since college, when everyone was just paranoid about getting pregnant. But then my women friends and I took a decade or so to grow up, and we had all kinds of experiences, relationships,. And kids along the way. Ring, IUD, diaphragm, patch, pill, chanting at the full moon? 8220;I know there is a lo...
