Hermann Hollerith, the World's First Statistical Engineer. Invented a device that revolutionized data collection for years to come. It was a tabulation machine designed to calculate the 1890 census. He became rich overnight. With his invention Hollerith allowed for the creation of one of the most dominant corporations of the computer age and secured his place in history as the father of information processing. Why did my precious child disappear? Why isn’t there a shred of evidence? Post a new comment.

http://odetohumanity.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 14, 2010. The Nerdiest thing I saw today. Thanks to friend MtheP. For drawing my attention to the entry on The Nerdist. Titled I Miss MS Paint. I have neglected my time with Paint and this blog and you lovelies; Burnside's piece makes me want to change my priorities back. Happy To Be From Iowa.
