Executive Hippie: English class project completed, memories made
http://executivehippie.blogspot.com/2009/09/english-class-project-completed.html
A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Tuesday, September 1, 2009. English class project completed, memories made. Some of my III Ciclo comun kids). About 8 months ago, Drew and I were asked to teach English classes in a nearby pueblo called San Juancito. We had worked at the high school before doing project citizen, and I had always wanted to see if I could teach ESL and saw it as an opportunity to learn, teach the kids about my culture, and have as a major project my last few months. May 17, 20...

Executive Hippie: An odd story to happen this close to the end of service.
http://executivehippie.blogspot.com/2009/08/odd-story-to-happen-this-close-to-end.html
A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Wednesday, August 12, 2009. An odd story to happen this close to the end of service. I helped someone today. It cost me $5. I neither taught a man to fish nor gave him a fish, but rather, I bought him a fishing pole. I suppose the cause was worthy of my $5, but I'm still struck by doing what I did. Farmer from the 40’s, and khakis that look ironed, but stained more times than I can immediately count. I forget about the conversation for the most part. Tue...

Executive Hippie: December 2008
http://executivehippie.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Monday, December 15, 2008. A study on international relations. 160; . During the presidential primaries (I know everyone is trying to forget them, sorry for bringing them up, but I’m using this story to jump into another one actually worth hearing about) and the debates on foreign policy, I remember hearing too often about sticks and carrots. Sticks, I assume, represented . What is the most stubborn animal you can think of? Even move at all? Now, w...

Executive Hippie: August 2008
http://executivehippie.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Friday, August 22, 2008. Time to break out of my routine. The majority of my days here are quite productive, but I've found that since I usually have work, I've stopped doing new things. I live here like I would live anywhere else. What a wasted opportunity. Nearly a year later my thirst for adventure finally returned. Alice: You should shower before you come to the office. Drew: I think I am going to take the morning off. You stink, you need to shower.

A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Friday, August 21, 2009. June's recycling fair and a few fun pics. I forget about the conversation for the most part. Tuesday night it occurs to me that he ma...

Executive Hippie: October 2008
http://executivehippie.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Tuesday, October 21, 2008. So, to take a bus to the capital, I have to get off about 50 feet from the spot, walk to the other side, and take another bus. They won´t let them pass until they figure out what to do. Friday, October 3, 2008. 8220;Good morning” Yeah, I’m nervous, but at least I assigned the right gender to morning, should be all downhill from here. I continue on and tell people that we are Peace Corps volunteers in Valle de Angeles and we have a ...

Executive Hippie: February 2009
http://executivehippie.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
A married couple fighting poverty in Honduras. Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Well, all updates as promised. All shall be well, and I don't question I'll be able to make it back to Honduras within my time limit. Sunday, February 15, 2009. I'm not sure anyone reads this who isn't in my imediate contact loop, and judging from the overwhelming response to my previous 4 posts, I'm guessing no one wanted to read 20 pages of babble. I'll keep it short. Wednesday, February 11, 2009. Before dinner we all crowded ...

"You must be the change you want to see in the world.": Fire Camouflage
http://pcbolivia.blogspot.com/2011/02/fire-camouflage.html
Thursday, February 24, 2011. Have I ever mentioned that the firefighters here wear red camouflage? Do they think they are going to blend into the flames? And even if they could, wouldn´t that be really dangerous? Wouldn´t you rather people be able to see you if you were surrounded by fire? The municipal police wear blue camouflage. That one remains a complete mystery. February 25, 2011 at 11:13 PM. Got me, when in S.A. go with the flow? March 30, 2011 at 10:59 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

"You must be the change you want to see in the world.": 2009.01
http://pcbolivia.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 22, 2009. Eeing as another month has gone by, I figured I ought to update my blog. Life is still excellent here in site. I have yet to see the waterfalls that everyone keeps talking about, but I’m very excited for them. The river got pretty high and turbulent with the last rain. It’s hard to tell from the photos, but it’s a decent size river. River in dry season. I usually get a ride out to the community, stay for 2-3 days, and then get a ride back. The community where I work. Photo by ...
