Thailand Trip 3: Journey to the Turtle Island

Koh Tao is just North of Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand, it is fairly isolated and mostly a destination for SCUBA diving. It is suppose to be some of the best diving in Thailand. The entire island is just a little over 20 km. Overall Koh Tao is a great place to get away and spend long hours on the beach, do some SCUBA diving, and meet people from around the world. However if you are looking for something more cultural or historic then Koh Tao is a not a good choice.

He Yukigassen is a massive organized snowball fighting event that happens every year in Hokkaido near Lake Toya and lasts two days. It is done more as a team sport and doesn't have much of the chaos associated with a normal snowball fight the could break out at just about anytime as long as snow has fallen. Taipei, Taiwan New Years 2005

An excellent trip, but far to short. I would like to see the rest of Taiwan. Also with some language background in Japanese its interesting to see the influences remaining from the 50 year occupation they had on Taiwan and well as the modern influence of music, fashion, and culture.
