He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physics at the University of St. Andrews and a Master’s degree in Electronics from the University of Edinburgh. James was part of the team that developed the first ATM machines. James became an American citizen in 1989. He completed his PhD in Artificial Intelligence in 1995 at Washington National University.
