Our organization was created to help find homes for animals dumped out in the country or otherwise homeless. We have taken in many dogs and cats over the years and felt it was time to get more involved with finding places for these pets. We are registered with the State of Idaho as a non-profit and have IRS public charity status. Any money donated to Hardluck Hounds is put in the account for animal food and vet expenses. We do not have any paid staff and all labor is donated. The last few months have been pretty intense with vet bills but currently all animals or up to date on shots and doing well. Many years ago Stan Rush said he was too old to get another dog, but he sure missed his old dog Honky. Honky was a white standard poodle and a good friend to Stan and Ramona. We told him if he wanted a dog we would care for it if anything happened to him. He said no, no dog could replace Honky. Two weeks later Stan called and said he had gotten a new poodle and his name is Lou. We cant quote Stan here, but to paraphrase, Lou was the stupidest * * dog hed ever had. (He was kidding.I think.).

Hardluck Hounds received a generous donation tagged for Rocky, the dog we found impaled on a rebar post some time ago. He was adopted and his new family paid his vet bills. Rocky received great care at the vet and healed up quite nicely. He has an indentation on his thigh but it doesnt stop him from playing with his neighbor Ivan. Many thanks to the Waltons that took Rocky in, West End Vet for his great care and Judy for sending the donation. Rocky is doing great! 2000 - 2016 powered by.
