Meandering about the Pacific in a 31 foot ketch. Link to ShipTrak website with position updates. A little about each of the folks that Ardea has been gracious enough to accommodate. Time passed and I actively raced during both High School and College with two summer 29er campaigns on the side. Sailing post college has transformed from serious competition to relaxing cruises with friends while the sun falls behind the Olympic Peninsula. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Keepin it Easy on Waiheke Island.

In March/April, I was able to get on board of Slick, a pretty lady and its skipper Tim. Thanks to Matt who was talking about it in passing, and that I couldn’t keep my impulsive brain to shut up, I joined him and was a tiny part of Slick’s adventures around the world. I have good memories of Slick and perhaps in the future can go back for more memories. Tim, Matt, Zach Thanks for the wonderful journey. Read more about Slick’s Adventure. Meandering about the Pacific in a 31 foot ketch. Link to ShipTrak website with position updates. Saturday, February 2, 2013. New support beam. Needs varnish, but it's in. Main mast step before. Main step after. Original half-dollar back in. A kiwi. Two-dollar coin went under the mizzen, chosen. For it's heron on the tails side. Cockpit ready for paint. I failed to photograph it. With the step in as things were getting a little hectic. New mizzen support design. I think I'm. Worth all the while. Follow Ar...

Meandering about the Pacific in a 31 foot ketch. Link to ShipTrak website with position updates. Sunday, September 30, 2012. I've delayed beginning this post for weeks for fear of ending up with an unfair and resoundingly negative review of Rarotonga in these Cook Islands. I wondered if my reasons were all wrong as I contemplated such titles as The Crook Islands. And the remarkably embittered Cook Islands: A Place And An Excuse. Glad to have some mates about. Partying at Trader Jacks (again). It wasn't l...

Meandering about the Pacific in a 31 foot ketch. Link to ShipTrak website with position updates. Sunday, October 28, 2012. Huh Those clouds look funny. 8220;Ah man, are we getting another front? We could hear Saltbreaker's anchor chain drag across a coral head as she came around and set bow to the southeast. 8220;Errr,” as the grinding went on, “we're destroying that bommie.” Nick noted the unfortunate but unavoidable. I was exhausted but the wind was clocking to the west. I set an anchor drag alarm ...

Meandering about the Pacific in a 31 foot ketch. Link to ShipTrak website with position updates. Monday, January 28, 2013. Note the sagging. Also the separation to port. It worried me a great deal for many miles. I was careful with my sail area and tried to keep the pressure off as much as I could. I knew the problem needed to be addressed, but I wasn't quite sure how bad it would be and how I would go about repairing it until I started ripping out the cockpit decking underneath the mizzen. Then I ran a ...

See, that’s what the app is perfect for. Wahhhh, I don’t wanna. This is my personal blog, starting today. I almost lost one of my greatest friends but thank god she is okay. I honestly don’t know what I would have done if she took her life. It made me really realize that my life isn’t always as bad as I make it out to be. I am just very grateful that she didn’t succeed.
