Houses & additions. Barns & studios. We offer a range of services in addition to building the frames. We have an optional, in-house design service. And often custom design. The buildings that we frame, working directly with the property owners. But we also build frames from floor plans from architects. We construct the frame. Out of heavy timbers, using mortise and tenon joinery. That we cut in our shop. Then we label each piece, truck the crafted timbers to the building site, and raise the frame.

Houses & additions. Barns & studios. What is a timber frame? A timber frame is a sturdy wooden skeleton of a building that is made with heavy timbers and traditional joinery. The timbers are connected with dovetails and mortise-and-tenon joints secured with wooden pegs. What techniques do you use to make the timber frame? All of our frames are cut to the client’s specifications. Most of our tools are hand-held; some are the same that carpenters used hundreds of years ago. What kinds of wood do you use?
