Sunday, January 4, 2015. Summer in the Mountain West. This past year was one big blur for us as we moved from England to Colorado. Our move, and some unexpected challenges that sprang up along the way, made for a really busy summer. This post captures a lot of our activities over the summer throughout the Mountain West. Above) Jack and his cousin Oakley just before leaving for their sports day camp at CSU. L) Lucas (R) Jack, Aaron and Noelle in kayaks at a lake near Burley, ID. L) Jack (R) Noelle. Above)...

Sunday, April 28, 2013. Isle of Wight - The Needles. The Needles are a row of jagged chalk rocks that stick out of the western edge of the Isle of Wight. Near the Needles was a small fair ground with some rides for the kids. Unfortunately we didn't have time to take a closer look at the Needles point. Above) Jack really wanted to go on the spinning rides. But he had to go alone as none of us grown-ups can handle these types of nausea-creation machines. Isle of Wight - Osborne House. About 2 hours east of...

Jack & Lucas: September 2014

Sunday, September 21, 2014. Moving was bittersweet. We were happy to be moving back closer to family but knew we would miss the charm of living in the English countryside. Above) Last day at our 214 year-old cottage. Above) Moving truck. Not a lot of space for large loris (semis) on these small village roads. Above) I'll miss the fish, but not the soft, mushy chips. Jack & Lucas: October 2012
http://littlejackbear.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 22, 2012. Last week's heavy rain created a new pond in our back yard. Lucas LOVES playing in water, and couldn't stay out of it. Then Jack joined in. Jack is looking so handsome and grown up. Here's me at 25 weeks, just before Aaron left on his 4-week trip. We had some nice weather while he was gone. We spent a lot of time outside at the playground, riding bikes, and enjoying our new back yard. We have some gorgeous autumn color in our neighborhood. The white fence is our driveway. Course...

Wednesday, April 9, 2014. During Harmony's parents' visit in February, we explored the Hampton Court Palace, which was home to some of England's most famous royals, including Henry VIII and William III. This was definitely one of the best-preserved and most ornate palaces we've visited in the UK. Above) Large room within William III's apartments. Sunday, November 25, 2012. She was born at 12:53pm GMT on November 24th and weighed in at 7 lbs 3 oz. Harmony did a natural birth (no epidural) and the hospital discharged her about 4 hours after the birth. Mom and baby are doing well here at home. Wednesday, November 21, 2012. We went to the Ward Trunk-or-Treat. Halloween is just catching on in UK. This little Tigger was quite popular. They both take a swing at the pinata. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Jack & Lucas: May 2013

Sunday, May 5, 2013. Isle of Wight - Carisbrooke Castle. Our last stop on the Isle of Wight was to Carisbrooke Castle. A fortress that dates back to Saxon times. King Charles I was imprisoned at Carisbrooke Castle in 1647 after royalists were defeated during the English Civil War. It was similar to other castles we've seen in England, but the boys are always eager to run around and play in castle ruins. Above) Carisbrooke's main entrance. Above) Lucas running along the castle wall. Jack, age 4 1/2 months.
