Contemporary Media Regulations: Christopher Jefferies
http://contemporarymediaregulations.blogspot.com/2012/03/christopher-jefferies.html
Wednesday, 21 March 2012. I have searched through the PCC records and cannot find any complaints from Christopher Jefferies. As this was such a high profile case the usual PCC decision of an apology was probably not deemed sufficient. What does this say about the power of the PCC? He has sued eight newspapers for libel - Can you remember what libel is? Explain it in your own words, in relation to Christopher Jefferies. Mr Jefferies said: "The press seemed determined to believe both that the person who ha...

Contemporary Media Regulations: The Campaign for Press and Broadcasting Freedom
http://contemporarymediaregulations.blogspot.com/2012/03/campaign-for-press-and-broadcasting.html
Wednesday, 14 March 2012. The Campaign for Press and Broadcasting Freedom. Home page for the CPBF. The PCC is closing down. Will anyone notice? The Press Complaints Commission has announced it is to close. It had to do so with something of a fanfare because no-one would otherwise have noticed and in any case nothing has changed. The organisation will carry on dispensing its feeble gestures at "self-regulation" until something else comes along. In truth, the PCC made press standards worse. Its functio...

Contemporary Media Regulations: Super Injunctions
http://contemporarymediaregulations.blogspot.com/2012/03/super-injunctions.html
Wednesday, 21 March 2012. Celebrities attempted to stop any stories reaching the public with the use of super injunctions. What quickly became apparent was that the age old practice of gagging the press was now futile in a world where digital communications and social networks were allowing both the foolish and the brave amongst the general public to ignore any legal restrictions and say whatever they wanted. Love cheat Giggs' damages claim thrown out of court. Last Updated: 03rd March 2012. The milliona...

Contemporary Media Regulations: Current Issues in media regulation - OCR conference notes
http://contemporarymediaregulations.blogspot.com/2012/04/current-issues-in-media-regulation-ocr.html
Friday, 6 April 2012. Current Issues in media regulation - OCR conference notes. As The Leveson Inquiry will not conclude until September you can speculate on the outcome. Will the replacement for the PCC have statutory powers? How will it operate in relation to our free press? Will it have ethical standards? Lord Hunt (at The Leveson Inquiry) said the replacement to the PCC needed to be 'something with teeth'. The organisation of The Leveson Inquiry:. Celebrities and the general public. There are very s...

Contemporary Media Regulations: January 2012
http://contemporarymediaregulations.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, 22 January 2012. G325 June 2011 Regulation. 2) To what extent are contemporary media regulated adequately? There are many arguments from the public, psychologists and the media industry itself as to whether contemporary media is being regulated adequately. Changes in technology, social values and legislation has affected both film and press regulation, but overall I believe that both areas are being regulated well. Wednesday, 18 January 2012. Candidate example answers and examiners comments.

100 Paintings in 100 Days³ Cubed
Tuesday, 7 April 2015. 100 The Final Judgement SOLD. Well, for final piece, for the grand one zero zero, I couldn't do anything else but a painting of the exhibition itself! These two shady characters giving the final judgement are in fact my parents who were in the UK on a brief visit (I'm joking of course - there were no judgements, just lots of hugs! I had to work from a photograph because of the time restraints and you can see when it was taken by the number of empty frames (exactly five days ago!
