We rode around Lake Pepin taking the Wisconsin side south along the river to Nelson and then crossed over to Wabasha. A very enjoyable tail wind pushed us north on the Minnesota side back to Red Wing for some well deserved food and beer. The old guys showed the young bucks a thing or two. 73/20.7. My primary goal for the race was to qualify for Gate 1 placement again next year. I ended up finishing in 2:57 (7 minutes slower than last year) and 40th place overall for the women– hopefully that’s enough! My secondary goal was not to get taken out during the first few miles and that goal was also met. What a relief! Cuyuna Lakes Whiteout 2015.

The people who put it on have a lot to do with it. Hard work, low (almost no) cost, riding in the dark through the suburb streets and trails I should know by now (but don’t), AND a beer stop.
